A friend of mines gave this to me shortly after launch and I've been playing since. I wanted to get a real feel of the game before making a review but comparing how it was in the beginning, it is phenomenal now. The devs keep adding more and more features since launch and I feel like there's more to come because of how massive everything is.

TLDR; If you like endless space exploration, this game is probably for you. There's more things you can do but those are all optional.

Space
There are tons of solar systems you can explore with up to 6 planets to visit. All of the systems aren't available right after your first time warp speeding, but in due time you will get to those upgrades.

Planets
There are many different types of planets with many different types of creatures with their own weathering system but that's where it really stops at. I wish the procedural generation would be more random OR there are more options that it can add to the planets. The Worlds updates did change a lot of it but I"m still seeing mostly the same type of weather with almost the same creature looks with the same planets. Maybe that's jus me because of 500+hrs on it from 2016 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ships
I'm so happy they added the part where you can basically craft your own ship. NGL it takes awhile to get there but once you're there, you practially can create your own style of how you want your ship to look. You also don't have to craft one to get the best ships because those are also randomly generated so maybe you'll be lucky enough to find a ship and upgrade that.

VR
Brings the immersion to the next level by allowing you to control your ship with the throttle and the joystick to move your ship. I will heed a caution out there that IT WILL GIVE YOU SOME MOTION SICKNESS even if you aren't susceptible to that because I don't normally get that but when you're spiraling around space in a dog fight, it'll make you much more dizzy than usual. Sometimes I spiral towards the planet in hopes to train my brain to accept it xD

Overall
I can go into a lot of detail of what this game can offer to different players but I don't want to spoil the game for you. If you're the type that wants to know EXACTLY how the game is, then check out the millions of videos that are out there. In my opinion, I think anyone who loves space travelling and taking up the challenge to survive in hostile enviroments should try this game. On sale or full price, it's worth it =]

The Good
-- The game has a great balance between surviving and continuing the pace of the story which without trying to rush through it, you'll have over 30hrs of gameplay. There are a variety of puzzles at every main points of the story and many different creatures you face along the way will make these main points of the story not seem like simple pit stops but rather you unraveling a mystery. Multiplayer doesn't require a dedicated server but instead connects to the Host of the world and what you can build is up to your imagination. I have seen people build mega structures like the Titanic boat.

The Bad
-- You're not allowed to build outside of your raft as in on an island or even a separate boat. I have a few friends who have a gripe about that so that's why I said it. The story isn't super rich and kinda makes it feel like you're solving a mystery rather than reuniting with old family and friends. Combat is very simple and pretty stiff so there's no real challenge when you find the pattern that the creature does for their attack(s)

The Conclusion
-- Buy this game now or on sale but either way, it will be worth it if you want a different challenging survival game. Like I said, I don't think the story is rich enough to grab the audience but because I like solving things, I enjoyed listening and reading all the journal inputs along the way and learning about the mystery.

I played the alpha and beta but I stopped using the Steam download due to unknown issues. The overall gameplay is great and you can choose between PvE or PvP. If you want to squad up, there's ways to help you find a squad, join a squad or simply go solo if you don't want to play with anyone. I believe that the developers have made this game fantastic for everyone and have taken time to squash out as many bugs as possible over the 5 years of development. I would have liked to see some of the features they experimented in alpha and beta but despite that, I'm very happy with the state it is in and I recommend people who like shooters to try it out since it's free.

TLDR; Trust me. You will not regret buying this game.

If you wanna know what a REAL FULL RELEASED GAME is, then this is the game right here. Everything in here requires you to work hard for what you want out of iT. I only have 3 hours currently but as far as I have seen, they have not diverted from the original gameplay because I've been there since Day 1.

Graphics: 10/10
I play on Max Graphics on a 3080 and it's like playing a cinematic the entire way. Also, I have not once noticed any glitches/bugs even though I would be quick boosting everywhere.

Gameplay: 10/10
This WILL put your skills to the test. It isn't forgiving but it's not brutal like their Dark Souls series and progresses you as you get further along in the story. Also, you can customize everything on your mech plus more!!

UI:10/10
Interface is spectacular and not cluttered like how the originals were. Gives you what you need, where you need it.

Sounds: 10/10
No glitchy, buggy, off timed or generic sounds ever. Everything was perfect 👌👌

Overall: 11/10
I only foresee small patches to fix non game-breaking bugs in the future due to how perfect it has been so far. I will update this post when I have progressed further but for now, this will do.

I just love Splitgate enough to buy this💚💚

Plus the portal and banner is really cool but the armor is bulky

Already has more content than most beta or early access games. Loads of strategies to do with the portals as well as having many game modes to choose from including 2 rank modes. I think this will be my new Halo game from now on 😉😉
