Dumb source engine deathmatch fun. Barely any active servers outside the weekly game nights on Saturday hosted by the devs, so if you want to play at any other time you'll need to grab your friends (but that's where JB is at its best anyway).

If you're wondering how good it is, JB has quickly become my favourite arena shooter.

Early Access Review
Bought this to support the dev and because I was learning Japanese at the time when it came out, however there don't seem to have been any updates in the last few years.

About 6 years ago I started working on a game that I would put time into on-and-off, titled Aretisia: Tenebris Dominus. Now, 6 years later, that game is officially finished. I always told myself I'd save writing a review of RPG Maker until the game was done, so here we are.

RMMV accomplishes what it sets out to do, giving simple tools to anyone wanting to make a JRPG. Where the engine really shines is in its flexibility though, as the whole thing is written in javascript and is completely customisable. There isn't really anything stopping you from stripping out most of the engine's code if you really wanted to, but I'm not sure how well that would go.

For my purposes, making a relatively straight forward JRPG, it met my needs pretty well. Anything the engine can't do natively can be done with plugins, and you can also just make the engine run javascript directly through script calls. It can be very powerful and lets you do some very interesting eventing.

With all that said, I will not be using RMMV going forward. Not because of issues with the software, which to be honest I didn't really have - mostly because I realised over the last 6 years that the kind of game I want to make just isn't what this engine is actually made for. While Aretisia: Tenebris Dominus has been released, it doesn't live up to what I wanted it to be because of the engine choice and to make what I actually want to make I simply need a different engine.

For what RMMV does, it is very good. It's just not what I needed, which I didn't know at the time that I started this. If you know you want to make something akin to a JRPG, whether it has combat or not, RMMV is a good starting place and I would highly recommend it.

One of the only trivia based games that is actually up to date and has relevant questions. A lot of fun if you can grab some friends or have a Twitch chat at the ready to play with

EYE is one of those games where I feel like it's essential to acknowledge that this game isn't "good", but it's very interesting and if you can get past the initial hurdles there is fun to be had.

There's a ton of core design problems from the map design to translation and the story not really making sense without looking up an explanation of what the hell is happening, but the actual gameplay feels good (if you can get a few levels) and the sheer overcomplexity due to converting a table top system into an RPG FPS gives the game a really unique feel.

EYE also has a really unique visual style due to effectively being a Source mod, it has the graphical fidelity of Half-Life 2 while attempting to be Warhammer (which makes sense given what the devs later went on to make). This combination of HL2 era fidelity with large open maps and Warhammer theming gives the game a very specific feel that I can't really describe, but it's certainly unique and creates almost surreal dreamscapes at times. It's something you won't see in other games, for better or worse.

I think there's definitely interesting ideas here and the game is fun provided you can get past the initial hurdles. It took me three tries trying to play this game, once every few years, before it really clicked and I was able to get into it, and I understand that might be a bit much for some people - if you are willing to stick with it then there's a ton of fun to be had in sprinting around and smacking stuff with a big hammer or blasting things to kingdom come with a 3000 RPM SMG.

Moorhuhn practices colonialism and genocides natives to steal their ancient artifact

The level design is a lot more open and maze-like than the first game which makes some of the later levels absolute agony to play, while I didn't enjoy the first game much I did at least want to finish it. Around halfway through this game I started to get reaaaaally sick of it and wanted the game to just end already.

The final bonus level is a remake of the first level from the first game which is cool though!

Imagine DKC but it controls kinda badly and you have a gun.

On a serious note it took me way longer than it should've to figure out there was a punch button so I ended up getting stuck near the end of the game for a few minutes because you NEED to punch a skeleton to progress. At no point in the game do you get told how to punch or that you can even do it unless you look at the controls (default bind is Y for some reason).

This game isn't really bad, it's just painfully mediocre.

After playing the other Moorhuhn/Crazy Chicken games, this was a bit of a surprise. It's actually good! It's a pretty simplistic action RPG in the same vein as Diablo, and it's surprisingly competently made. I'd probably recommend playing on hard since it actually makes you think a little.

Call me crazy but I kinda want a sequel...

I'm glad to be able to experience ducks anywhere, anytime, but currently the ducks eat your input if you try and scroll your mouse wheel while hovering over them. You also can't click through them, so they make navigation a little difficult. You do however get a bunch of ducks on your desktop, so I can't complain. Would duck again.

A little jank here and there but well worth the price. You can play through everything the game has to offer in just a few hours but what's here is a love letter to an older time. The story is structured like TS1 where you simply grab an object and return to the start, but the level designs and themes are a nice mix of TS1 and TS2 with some unique ideas thrown in for good measure. If you're a TimeSplitters fan, it's a no brainer - pick this up, it's fun.
