This game is nothing more than a fat turd that refuses to be flushed down the toilet.

I'd say Ferrius's review hit the nail on the head! I have always thought this game felt clunky and missing something. After reading what Ferrius said, I couldn't agree more.

So much Potential! Have had the game since release and seen a lot of changes. I remember when you could only build 3 different houses. Than you sat outside in the cold admiring it, waiting to get mauled by a bear. This is of course because you didn't build it to code and somehow forgot to put a door in. I knew the guy I learned those carpentry skills from looked a little shifty.....


++Pros++

+ The skill system is great! I like having to learn my skills from other masters and have each progressing level unlock something new related to that skill.

+ The world is fun to explore! You can travel from village to villiage and learn the juicy town gossip from the friendly plebs down at the local tavern. Or if that doesn't strike your fancy, You could always go die in a cave! or spelunk it!

+ Interesting building system! In the beginning, getting your town up and running as well as making the citizens happy is fairly easy. Just add wood! Same thing you would do to make your girlfriend happy.

--Cons--

- Optimization please! I could watch 8 porno's at once and not have this lag, what is going on here! Between the lag and the continued frame drop as the world ages, how is a guy supposed to get anything done around here?

- Artificial intelligence without intelligence. If this is smart AI than George Bush is a mastermind genius! Not only are the Npc's lacking a few 1's and 0's but so are the animals. You got Joe Blow standing around doing god knows what, while off in the distance you have deer forming some sort of totem to mother nature by stacking on top of each other.

Listen, The game has it's problems just like every other EA out there. However the concept is great and they have a good foundation to work off of. When the game is actually running smoothly, it looks pretty damn good too. With that being said, is there alot of work needed still? Yes! If you don't buy it now I would say at least keep and eye on it for the future. Once finished and polished, it could be a gem.

This game has alot of potential! The graphics look great, the lighting done well and the gameplay is very smooth. Since it is in early Alpha there are still alot of bugs and things that need to be worked out. The AI are a little crazy at the moment and the aggro table defintly needs to be tweaked. The crafting is also very limited at the moment but the direction they are going looks good. I can't wait to see all of the items you can craft and things you can find. Overall I really liked this game and think the final product will be great.
