Alright, I’ll try to keep it short, but who knows 😂

Look, coming from the Train Sim franchise 20xx, I definitely wasn’t expecting a massive difference; however, I’m happy to have been proven wrong. I’ll keep this short and just list some of my Pros, Cons and TTC (Things to Consider).

Pros
  • The walking function and ability to actually interact with the passengers, railway signals and switches, and train stations is a massive yes from me. This adds so much immersion to the game, really love this feature.
  • Trains are really well-modelled.
  • The coupling system for freight trains is realistically implemented, which means you actually have to get out of the cabin to ensure your stick thingy or whatever it’s called isn’t blocking the coupling.
  • The map is really well implemented and useful. Hit the 9 key, and you can see a map of your entire route, zoom in and you can see signals, change switches, and see individual speed limits + other trains!!

Cons
  • This may just be me, but I found lots of the scenarios were really specific with the braking distance required to pass them, which, for example, if you’re travelling @ 200km/h in an ICE-T and suddenly it says "Oh, brake at the station 1km ahead," you almost have to apply full emergency brakes just to come to a reasonable stop.
  • And also on that note...
Slowing the train down to stop perfectly will just take time and lots of practice. Don’t expect to get it perfect on the first try.
  • The "emergency systems" on some of the newer trains, such as but not limited to the LZB, PZB, SUPD (I don’t know if that’s its exact name, but it’s the system where you push a button every minute or else the train applies 100% brakes), are all a bit hard to understand, and the tutorials do not cover them in enough detail. Some issues I encountered were as follows:
-- For the PZB (I believe):
--- I didn’t get any indication from the 1000Hz or 500Hz magnets because apparently, from what I read in some article, they don’t require it? Anyway, I kept getting audible warnings for it and a solid "G" on the dash. The only way to stop it was to go significantly under the posted speed limit. Maybe I’m just doing something wrong, but after redoing the tutorial multiple times, I still never understood what this does. Anyway, I’ll stop rambling about this topic and list the next; I think you get the point.

TTC
  • This game is really realistic. It will take time to learn all the buttons and takes a lot of patience and problem-solving when it comes to figuring out wtf is wrong with your train and why all of a sudden the throttle is red, and even though it is at 100% with brakes off, the AI is screaming random things in German at you, and you have no idea what’s going on... ahem... ICE-T (may have happened to me once or twice or more times 😑). (And mind you, I also speak German as a second language and couldn’t understand most of the time what the AI was yapping on about.)
  • Routes are displayed 1:1 scale from real life, so a 50km trip will take a while. Be prepared to have a YouTube video on a second monitor or something, as some of the trips can get a bit repetitive and boring.
  • Most of the trains and missions are hidden behind DLCs, so I’d recommend buying the deluxe version or whatever it’s called and then leaving it at that until you get sick of the content it has to offer, as the DLCs are priced as almost mini-games (average of $20 AUD).

So yeah, I think that’s it. RIP to my "short" review. Final thoughts are, if you tick the following boxes, by all means purchase this game:
  • You have lots of time on your hands.
  • You are patient.
  • You like realism.
  • You can understand AI German train systems shouting random stuff at you.
  • You have deep pockets.

PS: I wrote this review at 7 hours because I have now completed 10 achievements and a bunch of missions already. However, I will update this review in the future if I decide to revisit this game.

Surprisingly good.
Physics are ok but it has amazing wheel support for this kind of a game. Some bugs which haven't been fixed for ages but for a simulator its good.
This is one to pick up if its on sale

Sooo, you load in, and do a bank heist immediately. Fun overall. The Cayo Heist is a easy way of making tons of money fast. So make the 2m to get a sub.

So, yes buy the game. But beware its hard. Also get GTA5M if you want to use mods.

Look, I bought this game expecting epic loading screens and many busses but I didn't get that. The game play though, its epic. I have got to say, the game picks up what it left behind with the loading screen with the game play. I spent a bit of money on dlcs to try them out.

- Tram dlc thing
- OSMI Navigation
- and a couple others which I forgot the names of

OMSI Navigation is a addon which I think should be in base game. Having to pay like $20 something AUD for a nav system is a bit bs, but I did it anyway. To be fair, its worth getting, as it shows you the way to go.

PC
- Potato
- School Computer
- Gannys Laptop from 2013
- Midrange <---
- High End
- Don't care about price just need a 3090 + threadripper 3990x
- Ask nasa for a spare computer

Traffic/how is it to drive

Their is heavy scumbag traffic. They are like my dog. They always find a way to get in the way. If you want to pay $15 AUD you can also get the Luxury car package but why would you load more scumbag traffic???

AI People/Paying on the bus

Well, the ai is sometimes glichy, sometimes rude and sometimes you don't know wtf they are doing. Their is a lot of german speech which the ai sometimes says like "guten tag" which if your not german like me, means good day/hello. Paying on the busses vaires from bus to bus. Some older busses require you to push out money and select a ticket which is fun, if you know what you are doing. The newer busses just use touch and go

Price

A bit steep, the busses couldn't drive up it.

Should you get it?

Yes, if you have a steering wheel that is. Playing with keyboard is a bit like paying $170 for MFS 2020 THEN WAITING LIKE 3 DAYS FOR IT TO UPDATE AND THEN NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY AT ALL!
