TL;DR:
7/10, good single player arcade space exploration game. If you are looking for something realistic go play Elite:Dangerous

Graphics/Gameplay/Controls
Barely issues experienced so far in terms of graphics (solid 60fps, no crashes, only one minor rendering error when pulse jumping towards a star), running max graphics settings with following specs:

Windows 10
Intel i5-4690K @3.5GHz
8Gb RAM
GTX 980Ti

The graphics where for this game, to put it bluntly, overhyped (as was much of the game to a certain degree). However the graphics are by no means bad at all. I've taken more screenshots in this game during 10 hours than in 500(ish) hours played in other games.

A render distance option would be nice to turn the render distance on planets up when entering the atmosphere (or turn down on an older PC). FOV sliders do exist, so no issues with that. Game seems fairly well optomised to me.

Note: this part is on keyboard controls only, your mileage with controller may vary
Gameplay was, once again, overhyped. Looking at the game it may not seems that there are many actions to do, and whilst that may be true if you are playing through at a medium/fast pace. However if you play through slowly and take time to explore (as is the focus of the game) lots of different activities present themselves.

As for the menus the 'hold click to select' feature on almost all the buttons is confusing and slightly annoying, but it is possible to adapt to it. The menu navigation system is rather confusing at first and only get moderately less confusing with playtime although I haven't played enough to say wether or not you can adapt to it.

The controls outside of the menu are simple enough, wasd moves you, space does jump & jetpack. You have a melee key and an interact key on sepereate keys and shooting/mining is point at target and hold click. However at times it feels that the controls are a bit too simple, for instance there is no freelook whilst piloting the ships, as well as the ships only being able to do forwards, backwards and turn. Which as one can imagine is a rather large hiderance if you are unlucky enough to become stuck in one of the unescapable 1 vs 4 fights the game occasionally throws at you.

The only other issue with the ship control is the inability to crash, which out of context doesn't sound like a bad thing. However when you're trying to get as close to the ground as possible to clear a landing zone, or make sure that you are indeed above said landing zone when landing it becomes a nusiance (however it can be overcome with enough practice when yu start to get a feel for the scale of the game).

As for the various survival elements, such as

I can't really say anything about multiplayer that was advertised but not really actually it was just a sticker guys due to not having found anyother players or areas discovered by a player.

However playing the game for multiplayer is roughly the same as playing a game such as DOOM (2016) for the storyline, completely pointless. The game was designed to be an open world, arcade, space exploration game and it does that really well. What it doesn't do, however is be an interesting multiplayer RPG, which is what seems to be the general opinion on what the game is going into it.

What I thought I'd get VS what I've got
I bought the game as it looked like it appealed to most of the things I like in video games:
1) Space
2) Exploration
3) Arcade (kinda)
4) Open world
5) Pretty graphics
6) Runs at 60fps without any issues
7) Bug free / a few funny, non game-breaking bugs only

So far the game has lived up to all seven of the above with almost no issues (exceptions being for a few minor instances of landing partially in the ground due to pilot error). And whilst I will say this game was MASSIVELY overhyped I never really got on the hype train so it doesn't seem to be a bad game. So far the only real dissapointments have been from the lack of ship maneuvering and the 'your either completely fine or completely f*cked' nature of the combat.

However since all I really wanted was to go around naming planets and star systems using the XKCD Exoplanet Name List[xkcd.com] and give funny/dumb/weird names to every place I came across for the sole purpose of confusing anyone whose passes through the location after me (and for my own enjoyment) it's a bloody good game.

Ratings
Game preformance: 9/10 - Almost no issues
Exploration: 6.5/10 - Decent variation to the point where it doesn't feel like deja-vu yet
Menus: 4/10 - Why do you have to hold buttons?
Controls: 7/10 - Mostly makes sense
General Gameplay: 7/10 - LOOK MA, NO HANDS! - Last words whilst entering atmosphere upside down straight towards ' giant spider scoprion crab thing
Singleplayer: 8/10 - This is what you should play for
Multiplayer: N/A - Forever alone (in space)
Overall: 6.99999999/10 - I got to do pretty much everything I wanted albeit in a slightly convoluted wrong menu ' button ridden way

Just finished my playthrough of the game. Definetly worth the price.

Pros:
Mechanics are updated (semi) regularly and haven't gotten boring yet
UI is really smooth looking and the ability to change the layout by switching colour schemes works rather well
Bloody amazing story (not going to spoil anything)

Cons:
Was typing so fast on the last mission that I missed a key and cut my finger open on a craft knife next to my keyboard, resulting in a mission fail.
