Having played through and testing out all the content, I thought it would be time to write a short review about the game. While the game's graphics are average by today's standards, the visual presentation is occasionally very impressive and does justice to the WARHAMMER 40K universe. The sound design and voice acting are good, both in English and German. The music is in typical 40K fashion and is decent. There are great options for creating your own Space Marine, but unfortunately, this does not apply to the playable Chaos Space Marines in PVP, which legions are class locked btw. (Where are my Thousand Sons? You already have the assets in the game!)

On the downside, the story is very short and unfortunately ends just as it starts to gain momentum. The PVE mode offers little variation from the story and quickly becomes redundant, which also applies to the overall gameplay. The PVP mode is okay for a quick match but becomes boring after a few rounds. There is no option to adjust the camera perspective, which is far too close to the character. The online services still frequently fall out or simply do not work at all, even after two weeks.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game. Pick it up when it’s on sale, but in its current state, the game offers too little both technically and in terms of story and gameplay.

Immortal Empires is the second best thing that has ever been released in the history of Total War. However, Eight-Player-Campaigns are the very best.

The "crème de la crème" when it comes to single player gameplay. Unfortunately not in terms of multiplayer and postlaunch support. This game is a true masterpiece, with campaign mechanics and complexity far surpassing all other Total War titles. In addition, the artistic design and the great soundtrack create an absolutely unique atmosphere.

An absolutely underestimated little Total War. It combines a great historical atmosphere with an interesting recruitment system and fun siege battles. Unfortunately, just the variety and scope is not enough in the long run.
