Good game, I enjoy.

Disruptive bugs left in the game for many years, later DLCs destroy the balance, Game completely abandoned by the dev in a worse state than it originally released in.

Would not recommend. Game has been released in an unfinished state.

Early game is pretty interesting and shows a lot of promise, but too many elements of the game are currently half-finished at best or straight up broken. Religion is so shallow it may as well not exist (and the AI seems to think it doesn't) and the late game is borderline unplayable.
Every time I've reached the late-game so far, there have been at most 2 oil resources in the entire world while you need 3 minimum for most units and to do anything space related. The pollution mechanic is a simple increasing ticker with two hidden threshold. At the first "low pollution" every city in the world will take a -50% food penalty and a MASSIVE stability penalty. At the second, "high pollution" the game ends abruptly. The latter is easily reached before the contemporary era simply by building a train station in 3 cities. Late-game is virtually unplayable.

Amplitude burned a lot of their credibility points in my book with the last two DLCs for Endless Space 2 and by abandoning development on that game while it still suffered from frequently occuring game-breaking bugs. They have used up all the remaining credibility by releasing this mess. If this ship isn't turned around quickly, I don't think I can ever recommend any of their future work again.

Do not buy unless the game gets some serious and FREE fixes.

Snail time and stopped time makes for very fun gameplay with enemies, stage hazards and bosses designed around your powers.
Strong soundtrack.
Beautiful sprites and animations.

Very short, but also cheap. I enjoyed.
