Early Access Review
A simple, breezy auto-battler with a shockingly deep asynchronous multiplayer component. I am very much looking forward to how the game develops over the course of early access.

A lovely card-based roguelite autobattler, similiar Hearthstone's battlegrounds mode. It might not break any new ground, but the artstyle is wonderful, and the gameplay is solid.

Ever wanted to play a Wizardry-style Dungeon Crawler, but find the genre too punishing? Then this is the game for you. It's a chill game that streamlines the mechanics of an RPG without just making the game stupidly easy.

Pretty good. Not a terribly long game, but it's like 3 bucks so give it a shot.

At first I dismissed this game as an FTL ripoff... and it still kinda is? But it's a *good* rip-off, unapologetic about it's influence while still forging it's own identity. My biggest concern is that Games Workshop is gonna sue this game out of exsistance for making a Warhammer 40k game with the serial numbers filed off.

Early Access Review
I can't say it'll have long-term sticking power, but for a Dragon Quest 1 pastiche it's a good value for the price.

Somehow, they made Monster Train 2 even better than the first game! The 5 new clans all play pretty differently from the first game, and the fact that you can unlock the first game's clans is a nice bonus!. Seriously, if you liked the first one you should absolutely get the second one, full stop. The rest of this review is more for the developers so they can make this amazing game even better in the future.

That being said, there are a few things the game can improve upon:

First: I'm a little iffy on the visual novel style cutscenes. They're largely optional and they're not bad or anything, but the fact that everything is so flat. Maybe add some more animation?

Second: the game could stand to have a bit more boss variety. It's always possible that there's a second set of bosses that I just haven't unlocked yet and I know for a fact that I haven't unlocked the ability to actually fight the titans just yet, but the mid-run bosses seem a bit lacking compared the first game. They're servicable since each boss has 3 variants, but at the very least I'd like the boss variants other than Seraph to look different from each other.

Third: There's no modding support. The first game never really garnered a big modding community like Slay the Spire, and I think one reason for that is that all covenant progress was disabled when mods were turned on. That means if you wanted to play a modded clan on higher ascension levels you'd have to had beaten that level in vanilla first. I'm sure there's a good compromise somewhere, and I really hope we end up getting modding support in the future.

Again, this is a great game. I just want to see it even better.

A bizarre, wonderful, visual novel Tactical RPG hybrid thingy.

I'm honestly not sure about this game. Like a lot of Soldak's games there's a lot of really cool ideas marred by spotty execution, but this one in particular is plagued with technical issues that keep me from truely enjoying it. I hope that whenever they finally go back to make another top-down ARPG they start over with a more modern like Godot or something, because I really want to see some of these idea come to fruition.

The humor is kinda cringe and the sound design might need some more tuning, but this is a surpirsingly solid game. Based on review scores it looked like it had a rough launch, but most of those issues seem to be resolved now.
