Its the closest available Skate 3 successor at the moment, but it still feels quite barren of content. The included maps are quite detailed, and the controls feel fluid. The physics are a bit spacey however, and the gameplay feels a bit more arcade than realistic. It has my favorite implementation of powerslides and reverts out of any skateboarding game I've tried. The pumping mechanic can be abused on slopes to gain major speed boosts and on the mega vert map you can easily pull off ridiculous rotations. Its fun for a chill virtual skate session, but without community content it can quickly get stale if your not into making up your own challenges.

Its a clever, sweary journey through human emotions, with loads of gloriously funny moments. It's the third game of a trilogy, following on from "Ben There, Dan That!" and "Time Gentlemen, Please!", but doesn't assume you've played them (instead acknowledging their past adventures with small dialogue references and easter eggs) and stands on it's own merit. The gameplay is a mix between a platformer (while playing as Dan) and old-school LucasArts point & click adventure (Ben) game, and fits a niche I've personally missed in video games. It doesn't take itself seriously, and even has a separate standalone game, "Devil's Kiss" included for free which covers Dan's first day at school, and can provide useful character exposition in Lair of the Clockwork God.

All in all, I loved it, and I think you should definitely check it out. Easily recommended.

Destiny 2 is a great game, especially to play with friends, but it is not without a few minor flaws.

- It has loads of content to play, but it all feels produced from the same "go to A and kill X > collect Y and bring to B" sort of template. The moments when it breaks this mold from time to time are the most enjoyable.
- Since it re-launched on Steam and released the Shadowkeep update, some of the earlier content has been tucked away from view to keep new players and returning guardians alike on the same part of the world's internal timeline. Its not a exactly a down-side, but does cause new players to feel a bit disorientated initially, thrown into an already established world with no real history or familiarity towards the current story lines.
- There are mountains of lore to discover, yet this lore tends to be obscured multiple menus deep instead of being in the game proper.
- Season Passes and DLC updates provide seasonal content boosts, but again suffer from a high sense of déjà vu. Micro-transactions, while not required to do anything in game, definitely gate-keep some of the nicest armor sets and items.

The re-imagining (or complete guessing) of the rules for football make this game an entertaining change of pace from titles that try to be as hyper-realistic as possible. Instead, Behold the Kickmen aims for players to be interesting on the pitch to earn money from the fans, which they bank by doing some goals.

The game is still a bit glitchy at the moment; I have had issues with 1000+ fps on menus, the mouse pointer disappearing occasionally, and controller support is very lacking at the moment (my PS4 controller is not playing nicely), but the developer is actively fixing any reported issues, and the spirit and humor of this game leaves me with no regrets in purchasing it.

8/10 - I'm off to do a few more goals.

Its more like an abstract art experience than a video game, but the concept of telling a story purely through environment and scenarios, without any real form of dialog, is one I found very interesting. I enjoyed my play-through a lot, and despite it being rather short (I finished it in about 25 minutes, but I explored every environment thoroughly as I played) I didn't feel like I was short-changed.

The story is the whole point of this game, and while not entirely groundbreaking in itself, it is delivered in a way not regularly seen in video games lately; It leaves working out whats going on up to you. If you want to, you can ignore any of the details and sprint for the next area, or you can slow down, look around, and take in all the subtleties.

It may not be a game for most, but I think its a healthy attempt at changing the rules conventional video games treat as gospel, and it should be praised for its effort.
