Nat it's time you let him go and let him rest. It will be a long hard road, but one day you can go on a journey across the sea to visit him. Nobody hates you, just respect that Duane has passed away and give him the peace and respect he deserves. Nobody needs to know the gruesome details. His Family, his Friends and others only need to remember him as an awesome guy, son, friend, mate that stood by EVERYONE. It's ok, you're going to be ok just let him rest with dignity back home. He killed himself. And he compromised me sober this time, so I was too scared to let him inside. I had to consider my own safety, I have a son too. I thought I’d go see him in the morning once he’d calmed down, with the dvo incident a month ago I couldn’t call the police they wouldn’t help him only get him in more trouble. He’d cried wolf so many times about killing himself and I ran everytime hysterically so this time I just didn’t believe him, I thought it was another emotional blackmail attempt. And now, I have to live the rest of my life knowing that if I opened the door, I may have saved his life, but it wasn’t Duane, so it could have cost me mine.

I was in his heart as he is in mine and I made sure the dvo was reduced to only 1 year. I never wanted it, the police took it out based on calls from neighbours.

There are emails a month ago from his mother stating they had an international wake and said goodbye, they turned their backs on him when i was reaching out and saying he needed them. That crushed him beyond belief, and replied with his own goodbyes. i have copies of the correspondence to support his family was far from loving, supporting and missing him. They treated him like a worthless human being, he never knew love until he met me. He never wanted to return to NZ to live and in fact had notified in his last communications with family he was changing his surname. he made it very clear he wanted no part of them in his life anymore as a response and he stood by me.

Well how about you let his family take him back to his homeland for the correct burial. Duane loved his homeland and had told us all he wished to return home. We have all known him for years longer than you. We have been through his ups and downs over the years. You have only known him since mid march this year. What right do u have to say where he will finally rest. I as a friend of Duane's should have more rights than you. And for you to try and prevent his family from having his body is just disgusting. This is Duane's Fiance Nat. I no longer know how to go on without my soul mate. After the event that took place about a month ago, the pain of causing so much distruction and not remembering any of it took it's toll. Please know that I stood by him, that i will love him and wait for him until our souls are reunited again though distance and time, i'll be waiting. I have received a lot of hate mail. If you need a punching bag or someone to direct blame at, by all means go right ahead. But I know our truth and therefore will not penetrate my heart or all, because all i can afford to fill it wil is love for him, or i'll die myself.

I still don't know how to properly react, even though I have now known for a day or so, I was really shocked to hear the news. RIP bro, you were a great leader and friend to us all. I hope we can do you proud by keeping ELF going strong in your memory. I will always cheerish the amazing and fun games we've had over the years, and will always remember you as a good mate, and a legendary COD player. You'll be missed man, peace out brother.

A few nights ago I endured a nightmare but couldn't understand what it meant. Now I do and I'm sorry what has happened. My condolences to your love ones. On behalf of FLB we'll miss you.
