The combat in this game is great and any fan of the souls series will feel right at home. Unfortunately everything else is a miss for me right now. The 'rogue lite' features in the game are hardly there, every run feels exactly the same as the last. The persistent progression or 'relic' system is awful, 99% of the possible combinations are useless to all characters so its going to be a year long grind to get a decent relic set on a character in some cases. The matchmaking is terrible, everybody is playing squishy low health characters because they are the most fun making most runs extremely difficult if you aren't playing with a communicating 3 stack. No duos is a huge miss. The game needs more character progression, a complete rework of its systems to even be able to call itself a rogue lite.

Never been a massive fan of the monster hunter games but this one hits different. More arcade-like with fight after fight and little to no filler content. Lots of reviews complaining of performance issues but I have had great frames on ultra settings with no stutters or drops.

Very disappointing. Whilst I understand that the game is early access I feel the legacy of its creators and how the game is being advertised may have gotten peoples hopes up. Brighter Shores is essentially a mobile clicker game with little to no depth in all of the games aspects. Resetting professions and gear per zone is lazy, traversal of the map is tedious and the advertised 'AFK farming' nets you so little reward it is almost completely pointless. If you are looking for a new runescape-esque experience this is not it, just AdVenture Capitalist or Cookie Clicker with extra steps and a subscription fee. I hope that in-time many of these issues will be ironed out but at the moment it is not worth the time.

In my opinion best free to play game on steam. Have played the game since beta and am still seeing new content and events on a regular basis. This game has done incredibly well to avoid any pay to win aspects.
