Elden 'try finger but hole' Ring

Game at release - hot garbage and empty.

Game now - a classic Final Fantasy game with a lot of content.

DLC was great fun as well.

I was extremely sceptical about this game prior to playing it however I was delightfully surprised at how many unique features were added to compliment some of the best soul-like features.

The maps are procedurally generated which makes the replay value extremely high, unfortunately because of this feature a lot of the areas seem to be copy and paste or reversed copies of the same maps, which is very noticeable after a few runs through the same areas.

The gameplay is satisfying and rewarding with various ways to play the game, lots of different armour and weapon choices to play around with, all having positives and cons to each weapon and armour set. The draw back here is the poor design of most of the bosses. They tend to be on the easier side with the only difficulty factor being the infinite ADS that spawn throughout the fight.

Story-wise it is quite compelling with a more relateable story compared to any of the Souls Series. The NPC's are however quite forgettable with minimal backstories or side quests leaving you with about a 14-18 hour run from your first campgain. Note you will have to do atleast 2 runs through the game to see all the content this game has to offer.

Overall I really enjoyed playing this game despite its glaring set-backs, looking forward to a possible second instalment where they polish these issues out and create a standout series.

Honestly one of the best survival 'zombie' games out there. Extremely fun with friends but also fun to play solo. I would suggest waiting for it to come on sale because it can be bought for $15 instead of the hefty $43 base price.

Has a badass soundtrack that adds to the high octane gameplay and various different ways to play the game to fit any playstyle. All of the official maps are well made and great fun to play and the same goes for the custom community made maps. It can be buggy from time to time, especially with creating parties and joining servers, with the occasional bugsplat but these things are easily overlooked with how much fun you will be having slaying Zed's and headbanging to the soundtrack.

The community has been extremely positive with minimal toxicity in game.

Gotta give it a solid 8/10
