First impression:
Dialogue can be hit or miss, but it's really good so far. The leveling offers so much freedom, and the combat is far more impactful and diverse than I expected it to be. The atmosphere is amazing so far as well.

It does say hdd is only compatible with low settings, but that's a red herring; my hdd has had no problem running ultra. I think they meant it was made with ssd in mind, but it does still work more than fine with an hdd.

plus tears from political people who pretend to like games.
10 / 10 for that alone.
There's also a bulge slider.
Score is now 20/10.

Well designed. ♥♥♥♥ works. Price isnt $70. added stuff in higher packs is cosmetic only. Lore is respected and built on.
It's what a game release should be.

[First Impressions]
I haven't played much yet, but I intend to play more later. Firstly, this is definitely early access, so expect performance issues. The character creator (as in, the physical creation, not its stat allocation, which I'll talk about later) is also lesser than GF1, which was already basic. You also open up to a screen asking you to create a Nacon login, though it is skippable. I tried to sign up, though; when it said I had to follow the instructions in my email, then hit verify, i didn't get an email. I hit verify anyway. It worked. That was weird.

Beyond that though, there is a lot here to enjoy. The natives' language has been fully expanded on, and as you're native, your time in Teer Fradee is subbed while everyone is speaking the local language. Those non-native will of course speak in whatever language you have it set to. Some voice lines truly sound like a person who is actually fluent is speaking, while most sound like a non-native speaker of the language. Even then, most do sound well done.

This is a prequel of gf1, so you see a lot of people from it. You play as the child of who would become "Doneia Ecsregaw" leader in gf1, Daren, which is really cool to see. You're also an apprentice to Mev . There's a lot of ties put in early; even the character creation was a portrait painting, iike in gf1.

Past the physical character creation, the stat and skill allocations are redone, and are far better in my opinion. You can cycle through presets, or eventually go to free create. I do wish the presets were laid out as a list instead of cycling, as it makes it tedious to find and go back to certain choices. When choosing presets, it only shows the skill trees relevant to that preset, which may lead people to believe that's all there is; it may be better to have all skill trees there, but highlight and bring to the front relevant ones, and darken out irrelevant ones, so people aren't misled and put off. Like I said earlier though, there's also stat allocation, which can also be done freely or by preset. I love this; it's classic rpg material and really gives me more freedom over my character.

When you're done with the creation, you go through some story motions, and meet your mentor for combat training. Combat has been compared to dragon age, which I can definitely see; it's semi auto with skills, a tactical view, and tactical pause. It's extremely different from the last game. I like it, but I'm a fan of DA; the change won't be for everyone. This is where I learned that I just so happened to create a character that was an amalgamation of your starting companions; so I left the game to restart, and that's where we are now. I think the game would benefit from a brief cutscene or two before the cc, showing you and your companions so you can get a feel for what they do. There may be small gripes about there being physical changes post scenes, but I don't really see it as an issue as much as it is just videogamey.

There are other small things: the art style is less dark low-fantasy, and more semi-fantasy. It's not cartoony, but it's not realistic either - imagine a less dark greedfall with a slightly stylized filter. It's enough to be different and fit the new tone, but consistent enough to be recognizable as greedfall. There are also some options in the character creator that I'm sure the anti-woke brigade will ♥♥♥♥ their pants over, but a few options never actually hurt anyone.

The changes here are ones I enjoy, but they -are- changes, and I could see people prefering gf1. Truly, in style and gameplay, they're their own games, and I highly respect them for that. It's in the same vein as the original Divinity series vs Divinity: Original Sin; they're different, and while there is crossover, they will appeal to different people.

That said, remember it is still early access, and it looks and feels that way; only buy if you're okay with early access games.

Very faithful, though this sadly extends to the res. If there is an option to truly get it to fullscreen, I couldn't find it, and had to play with borders.

They do have playful artwork borders to choose from, but I just can't handle that personally. I'll be refunding, but I can definitely recommend for those who don't mind borders. Doubly so if they ever add an upscailing option.

The optional superboss makes less sense than any superboss I've played in any other game. Usually, there's the chesse strat, and then full-fight strats for those who don't like cheese. Here, I hope you love swiss. It's cheese or be cheesed. ♥♥♥♥ that boss.
The rest of the great is good, tho. Temenos best boi

A lot of misinformation bout this game. Firstly, it's not a mobile game - secondly, the "battlepass" is fully free with no mtx enhancements, and there's no mtx in general - unless you include the deluxe ed which gives gold, but that's only used for cosmetics.

edit: I see people now saying you can only choose hogwarts teams - you unlock other teams (triwizard teams and country teams) as you progress in cups.

Beyond that, it's a $30 game. Expect what you would from a $30 game. It's good for a time, and worth the price.

Thumb sideways:
it captures the atmosphere very well, and it has some unique classes that I don't often see in mmos. It's fun to play. That said, it has a nightmare of a cash shop; everything from buffs, to xp, to stats can be bought.
Would recommend as a small jaunt, not a dedicated effort.

I had previously said that this contained a trojan, due to the findings in an analysis I did. Most of the issues I had are suitably explained, and the remaining issues are not enough to raise alarm. So I'm happy to say I appear to be mistaken.

If anyone is still concerned, I'd recommend taking it to somewhere that has FTK and EnCase; I cannot afford these tools, so I wasn't able to use them in my analysis. That said, the explanation was more than enough for me.

Setting up a server is extremely obtuse, and the default server name is your computer name.
The file saves as a json, and you can see in the json that it saves the password as open, unsecured text. It should be hashed. It would not take many lines of code to do this at all.

Everything about this feels like a massive security risk, and it's too obtuse to run once everything is saved.

Going to full release far too early. Many severe bugs and half-baked systems still exist with no polish. For early access, it feels great - you can really see where they'd want the game to go, and the systems are beyond playable; for a full game, it's half baked in nearly every department.
