Man, I was really looking forwards to this game, but it's just not worth the money.
It's already like $30 more than most other AAA games for the base game.

The good;
-Cutscenes look good
-Cars look good (mostly)
-Lots of accessibility options
-Some good cars
-Modifying (sort of)
-Gives a decent amount of credits for a building cup, so you can at least buy a similar or better car afterwards, and have change. Not too much, not too little.

The bad;
-Game stutters a lot
-Default graphics it set for me were ps2 levels to run at 30fps.
-Attempting to use AMD fsr, causes the game to just crash.
-Physics are awful. Like, I've never had that much trouble trying to drive a fwd in any forza game before this. ABS on, and the car just plows forwards under braking and under accel. In a car that doesn't act like that, at that. AWD car was also awful. It at least didn't sledge like it had no front grip, but instead just had no brakes or turning at all. 0 turn in. Though part of this could have been the handling I had selected. But normally normal doesn't mean it'll just not let you turn in or turn.
-Even on medium, the cars in the distance are ps1/ps2 era of sprites.
-Modifying is locked behind progression, which isn't inherently bad, but at least let me get the tuneable things early on, so I can dial in the suspension, or even let me have some body parts early on. first car, body kits were locked behind level 7 and 9. At least wheels were early on.
-Unskippable cutscenes and tutorials. This was by far the most egregious. I went to change settings mid way through the tutorial first race, and it crashed. So, naturally it gives me all the unskippable cutscenes again, and I have to go from go again. Still ps2 era graphics, because I can't change them until I have a save point, or risk all these long ass cutscenes and babbling again. Then when it's time to modify the car for the first time, it gives you like 3 minutes solid of telling you how to do it, without being able to skip. Then forces you to auto modify. doesn't even let you decide the first time around.
-Forced 3 practice laps before every race. Like, I get practice is worth doing, but at least make it optional like Project cars did. I don't care if it gives you progression, having to do 10 minutes of practice before 10 minutes of race, is awful.
-AI is straight up awful. First 3 cars are great to battle, but the pack behind is mindless and borderline suicidal
-Penalties straight up are broken. I got run into by ai a handful of times, from them just running up my ass, or mindlessly turning into me, and I got penalties for 'avoidable accidents'. I also got no penalties for avoidable accidents of me hitting them.
-Seems to be straight up rubberbanding, where cars behind you have a pretty high chance of catching up, but once in front of you, don't disappear, despite having a faster setup. Then you catch up to them, and it's back and forth

It's honestly disappointing, because I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and it just didn't live up to the hype, or the previous games. It feels like they're getting worse every iteration.
God I hope the game gets fixed, and is good in a few months. Might buy it back, and enjoy it. But until then, I'm hoping for a refund, so I can spend the money on something else

What can I say, henti game go brr.

Story wasn't bad. Few questionable bits, but nothing too bad to me. Protag is a bit dense, but that's normal.
Build up was pretty solid, though there could have been some exploration on certain things like the knife scene, and the whole cousin thing. The knife scene specifically seemed like it was going another way, then was promptly forgotten. Almost seemed like a yandere moment, but then just tone shifted straight away. The cousin scenes were left a bit open ended, but not hugely. A decision in there somewhere to expand on that would have been nice, but at the same time, it makes sense for it to have stopped, due to the nature of it and her.

Overall though, I enjoyed my time in this. Short story, but great art, and very good scenes and build up. Will probably play through it again, cause why not

Pros;
-All the goodness of FFX, but in hd.
-Great story
-Great characters
-Great music
-A game I come back and play regularly. Just such a good game/ story. Like your favourite movie. Has aged really well

Cons;
-Good lord the hd textures just ruined the faces. They have almost 0 emotion now.
-ffx-2. Personally never was a fan of it. Story seems to be somewhat there, but it's a very very different game. Different strokes though.
-HA HA HA HA HA (I'm probably the only person that doesn't actually dislike this scene immensely)

Overall, I recommend, since it's a proper pc release. But man it could use some mods to fix the faces. But otherwise, brilliant.
Also good for power running through the story if you are that way inclined. Just use the 'get all items' cheat, then make yuna op. Rinse repeat, you now have yuna that can summon bahamut and one punch literally everything.
Did that once when I just wanted to power through the story, and not worry about anything else. Good times. Many good one punch man references to make

Game is good. Good story, and cute girls.
Only goes up to roughly chapter 3 in the steam version. Can get to chapter 4 via the discord.
But, seems like don't expect the game to be finished any time soon. Took something like 2 years for chapter 4 to be finished, and even then, it's missing some parts.
But, what is there is great. So, assuming the mans has the time, and can keep it going nicely, we're in for a solid game. But, there is also a chance it'll turn into another greenlight meme. Hopefully it won't.
But for the minute, it's a pretty good run. Just gotta expect to not see the rest for quite some time

Matchmaking is still broken as ♥♥♥♥. If you're fairly fresh to fps games, just don't bother trying ranked. Silver 2's skill cap is way way higher than it has any right to be. Seems they went from having everyone in mid nova and ♥♥♥♥, to everyone being in low silver.
Not to mention even if they did solve that, the chances of you coming up against a cheater, smurf or an MGE randomly in MM is insanely high. Like, plenty of games I've gone in solo, and come up against MGE's in my more recent time as a silver 2 (used to be nova 3 post rank adjusting, unless there was another one recentlyish)
Lots of sweaty players, but that's expected.
Lots of broken mechanics that just don't get addressed.
Terrible god awful anti cheat system that does nothing.
No way to penalise somebody for throwing and demanding to be kicked, besides reporting which does nothing.

Upsides; The games on a friday/ sat night are often genuinely fun. People having fun and not taking it super seriously.
They're making a half assed attempt to stop the hackers, so there's some protection in place, but it doesn't do much.
Otherwise it's fun. Just not often.

If they fixed matchmaking and ranks at the very least, and also made an active effort to stop hackers and the likes, it'd be a much more enjoyable game

I have completed the game, and become the Neko Girls' Master.
In this time frame, I have slaughtered countless neko girls all with the power and prowess of being a neko girl that can not only run 35mph, and jump 5 storeys high, but can also aim better at the hip than by iron sight. As expected of a catgirl with a bit too much cat.

Whilst the game is breaching a bit too far on that furry scale (with the ears and tail being the classic 0% furry, and having the cat schnout being roughly 15% furry), it is definitely game of the year.

With multiplayer, ability to customise your neko queen, and potentially have game modes and buy menus and an entire economy (next cs anyone?), this could quite easily be the next call of duty, and I will happily defend my title as /the/ Neko Girls' Master.

Honestly, was a real cute story, nicely engaging. Pretty cliche and easy to tell what was coming, but still enjoyed the ♥♥♥♥ outta it.
Was honestly disappointed with the faking scene, and no redemption from that, but at least things were still pure. GIVE THE ANGEL SOMETHING REAL.

Did not go into this to be so engaged, and have my heart in my throat so often, and so emotionally attached at the end. Literally stayed up till 4am to finish it, pushing through somewhat of a crushing realisation/ breakdown thing.

Also, legitimately was googling majority of the locations as I was going through it, to see what the places looked like in real life, and at one point, plotted out their whole trip, because I was curious how far it was. Haven't ever been that invested in a story before. Also probably due to a lack of sight seeing and tourist landmarks.

Vn elitists would definitely ♥♥♥♥ on it for the story, but be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if I didn't enjoy the ♥♥♥♥ outta it.
Keep it up. I r8 7/8, give me a follow up to there not having to be any faking, because that made me angery, and the angel is too pure to deserve that.

This has been a sort of mostly but probably not really spoiler free attempt at a review

So, where to begin. Found out about this game through my queue, and was instantly intrigued. Story seemed interesting, and the gameplay and what not seemed good as well.
Figured I'd hit up the reviews to see what people thought of it, having never played a single tales game before (though having zestiria in my library ready to play at some point). I saw the reviews were overwhelmingly positive, with people saying how deep and touching the story was, and how great it was to play. Figured that was enough to commit.

Anyway, my experience from the game? I absolutely loved it. Got hooked on the story, and found myself not able to stop playing for hours, ending up forcing myself to stop at 4am a few mornings.
Story is great, with great characters, many a waifu, and relatable emotions for the most part. Granted, there is a bunch of cliches in it, but I found them to be quite well done.

The character progression was great for most of the characters in the party/ involved, and as much as I saw some parts coming a mile away, others still left me really surprised. Was a mixed bag of emotions all over.

Honestly felt a few manly tears trying to come on at certain points, and anger of sorts at others. Felt connected somewhat to the characters.

All in all, I definitely recommend it if you're sitting on the fence about it, or want to buy it. Absolutely no regrets (#noragrets) with buying it, and I'm now running through zestiria, and noticing a lot of connections between the two, and realising the references to zestiria berseria had. Rad game

Well, that was short.

Writing was a bit hit and miss. Protag went from tsun to dere faster than I can count to 20.
Was a bit jaring getting the 'normal' end, but did it again, got the first crush end and the good end. Was pretty worth. But still very short.
The writing did lead it up to be quite short, but, it's still somewhat worth if you like this type of thing.

Could use a bit of refinement, but overall, I did enjoy. The normal end did leave me a bit confused with what to do with myself though. Needs a bit of an epilogue after it like the good end has, unless it does, and it's just being weird and glitchy to me.
Still, overall, not bad. Got it in a package of vn's, so pretty worth. Art is decent, the main girl is decent, quite cute. etc
