I feel the need to review this game twice, once as a Dragon Age sequel, and once as a game in a vacuum.

As a sequel to to Inquisition (one of my favorite games) and the culmination of the 4 game story it's.... okay. A lot of the choice and story influence you'd expect from the story isn't really here, it has the same kind of unsatisfying blurb endings for character we got in Inquisition before trespasser, and while I understand and accept that most of the decisions from the last 3 games don't apply here, it does lead to some disappointment. As well, you can't really be a bastard in this game like you can in the other three. The most 'evil' Rook you can be is just kind of focused, whatever it takes, and even then it can feel like it's shoehorning you into being a good person. The combat is really good, i enjoy this the most of the 4 on that front, and the skill tree is a needed addition. The new weapon and armor system as well is a welcome addition that I think helps reduce the inventory clutter buildup of the other games. The factions add a good level to the world building of the Middle and Northern kingdoms unseen before now, and your companions are all interesting and well written. I also enjoyed that your faction start choice added more than a few dialogues, and actually made you feel like a member of that faction and let you talk insider baseball with NPCs and companions. (Mourn Watch is funny cuz you and the other necromancers just wonder why people look at you funny as you do undead stuff) There was clearly less focus on romance mechanics in this one, which is a bit of a shame but also not really a necessity in the end.

As a game in a vacuum, no notes, 10/10, perfect game.

Okay one note, I love the gender discussions and options here, and I am transgender myself, but there are a few dialogues where it's like "that's really well said and a very good point you just made unprompted and out of nowhere." As for how they handled the gender questioning character, i find the most objectionable part of their presentation to be their eyebrows more than anything else.

Since my last review posting, the game's gotten a lot more stable, the story has had a few small yet major updates, and with the new DLC, the whole thing comes back alive.

~18 hrs, fun story and mechanics, lots of cute boys and girls UwU. One of those snowball mechanics that's pretty fun, but it's hard to get yourself in any real trouble. And the characters are actually interesting and complex. Highly recommend. Only real complaint is that the game ends, i wanna keep playing after the story!

Early Access Review
{Mechanically a fun game but it still needs a LOT of polish. Resources dot the landscape like rainbow sprinkles on a monochrome cake, with the only diegetic entry being resources dropped by meteors, which I do greatly like. The resource management is otherwise well managed, but be very careful to watch your oxygen supplies. Twenty three minutes in, I ran out of 02 outside a compartment with no door, at which point I was soft locked into and endless loop of suffocating before I can reach the drop pod or gather the resources to make a door. THANKFULLY it wasn't far in so no real loss for me, but I dread to think what would happen to a player in a bad position multiple hours in.

The building mechanics are also a bit... odd. You can't *actually* place any of your habitation cubes on the ground, they have to hover ominously a few inches of the ground. You can rotate the cube and the access stairs 90 degrees before building, which makes the fact that the the doors can be rotated by 10 degrees an interesting choice. And be careful when placing a a hab cube on any elevated purpose, because you can't attach stairs until after the cube and door are in, so if the cube is an inch too far in one direction, the stairs clip a tiny rock or a random loot chest and you need to deconstruct and rebuild the entire thing, or just access your base via mad ups.}

So this is an old review, and most of these statement still stand. But playing through, this is actually a very satisfying game. The terraformation progress is satisfying, the map is easy enough to explore and traverse as it unlocks,and every unique species of flora and most fauna that you cultivate appearing in the rest of the map is a very cool effect. Automation is relatively simple but you aren't crippled if you decide to skip it and just to everything by hand.

Also the butterflies are mesmerizing

Couldn't bring myself to get past the 2nd chapter. Stealth and Point & Click don't really mesh well, especially not here. A lot of the time the stealth feel less like hiding, and more like waiting. Add in a partner and the whole system breaks down. The noir as well is all stereotype and no substance. The author needs to include more than just rain, trenchcoats, and talking about the city through metaphors in a Humphrey Bogart impression

A pretty okay game experience. Solid stealth mechanics and a halfway decent story that is sadly let down by it's final level. A bit meme-y at times, and we have an interesting and unique protagonist who sadly does not get elaborated on, which feel like a huge missed opportunity. Side characters can be a bit one dimensional at times. Definitely get if you like stealth games AND it's on sale

Slow paced, boring, chocked full of characters you'll find yourself having to look up who they are and why you should care. Writing mediocre enough to match the voice acting, and the only solid core is the gameplay, though there are more abilities and commands than can apparently be fit onto a controller.

This game is a lot of fun. Great stealth mechanics, the streamlined Batman combat system works well, especially in the eventual crowds of orcs you find yourself swimming through. The world is well populated with things to do. That being said, nearly all of the characters in this game are one-dimential charicatures, including the heroes and villains, and the ending is more confusing than anything else.

On the USP of the living Orc power structure, it's fun to play with and see how it works and is manipulated... at first. Eventually, you get bored of it, only looking to see what @$$#@%& needs to either die or be branded so you can get on with the actual game already. Eventually the random crowds of orc become more fun to deal with that the actual named characters.

25+ hrs of enjoyable gameplay, 4/5

The Puzzles and atmosphere of this game is great, and can be very suspensful despite it's literaly sketchy art style. But it ends way too soon. Less than 2 hours to complete, and just as things are starting to get interesting, BOOm game's over, no real resolution, and you're left with massive amount of unanswered questions.
