First MMO in a long time to really suck me in within the first few hours.. It has the old school feel meaning no hand holding and ample freedom to make your own path. The skill leveling system is nice as well. The Wiki will become a close friend. The only downside is that it isn't optimised very well and the combat feel unimpactful.

I am a huge fan of hacking games and have played basically all of them, so this was a day one purchase for me. Sadly, I can't recommend Hacker Simulator as it is now. They claim in the description a sense of realism but nothing about this game is realistic. For example, WIFI routers don't just forget about you when you disconnect, and they also don't rotate keys every time you disconnect.

There is no sense of adventure or discovery since all systems just use rng and a wordlist to name the folders and files. Folder and filenames are inconsequential and in no way reflect the contents, so you are forced to go through and scan everyone until you find the random file with the random generic info you were tasked to find. While we are on the subject of files and systems, navigation and interaction are a joke. You can't even use the cd command and move around the system; instead, you have to use scansystem and scanfolder for everything. There is no alias functionality or autocomplete, so you will type them out repeatedly. Also, explain to me why if you are tasked to get a phone number, DL number, SSN, etc. from a text file, you are required to download the text file and send it through the chat app instead of just copy/pasting the number from the terminal to the chat. Another stupid and unrealistic feature.

This game has simplified things to the point that little to no actual thought or strategy is needed but added repetition, boredom, and pointlessness. Completely unrealistic, no adventure, no fun, no challenge. An hour in, and it has just been repeating what is essentially the same commands, same mission, and the same systems over and over ad nauseum.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. I will be refunding this boredom and frustration generator.
