Well, about time I wrote another review. Lets do one on one of the few games that I still play for a long time, almost like an Idle-Game at this point even: Helldivers, specifically it's Specialist Pack due to how good it is.

First off: Armor

Armor's fine, especially since it is just Cosmetic in nature. I don't particularly like the helmet, but I suppose that's just personal taste. The suit itself however is very nice. Slim and sleek with what seems like black/yellow heavy leather padding along the arms, or possible extra armor- (If there even was an armor value in the game, arms would likely be a bit higher than the rest due to that. Think K-9 trainer suit arms, but much slimmer) -Not to mention the little details it has too, like a Stratagem "orb" on the belt, specifically an Offensive one. As this is the only armor set in the game, DLC or not, to have one of those on the belt, I would have to recommend the suit at least to those who are looking for immersion. It's not like those other suits have some Hammerspace or pocket dimension just for storing who-knows-how-many Stratagems, while they have to physically carry around Black Boxes...

Weapon: Tanto

This little biter I nicknamed the "Industrial Welder" due to how it looks and is held, is relatively under-rated, mainly for it's range admittedly though. However, for those with a "Risk = Reward" mentality, it works wonders. Especially in RETAL [-iatory Strikes] and their usually small maps.
(Reason below is SPOILER text for those who don't want to read it all, simplified version is under it.)

The Tanto might be a laser weapon, which means it has basically infinite ammo as long as you can manage it's heat, it is however in one of the two Sub-Types laser weapons have. Ones like the Sickle and Trident I call "Pulse" Laser Weapons, as they fire in Pulses. They also don't do much damage due to being a pulse, but the Sickle in particular can be cheated by just repeatedly clicking fast enough, making the "Heat Meter" not go up, despite firing just fine.

The Tanto and Scythe however I would call "Beam" weapons, and, as the name suggests, they fire in a beam. Thing about Beam weapons however, they ignore certain kinds of armor, like most of a Hulk besides their shield, at the cost of reduced damage. Due to not firing in a pulse, it does a decent bit more damage the longer you hold down the trigger, more so than carefully "Red-Lining" the Sickle from my experience even. However, this means you have to manage the heat a bit more carefully than pulse Weapons. You can just fire slower with Pulse Weapons, but not so much with Beam Weapons.


Due to all that word mumbo-jumbo up there, I'll simplify it for those who don't want to read it:

Pros:The Tanto can pierce certain kinds of armor, like most of a Hulk beside their shield, does more damage than some other laser weapons, and due to being a Laser SMG, can be held in one hand, I.E when carrying a Black Box or when downed while also not needing an ammo resupply stratagem, opening a slot for use.

Cons:However, downsides being that it needs more careful managing of it's heat and, SMG's being SMG's, has a short range, half that of most other Primary weapons. It's the latter downside being the main reason why the Tanto is overlooked for other weapons.

But, take my advice at least on this weapon: When going into a Retal' Strike, take a Tanto with you. The enemies are coming towards you anyhow so no-need for stealth, and when facing a Hulk it's special armor piercing quirk will help tremendously, and when downed you still have access to it.

And finally, C.A.S. Stratagem

This is basically the "Jack of all Trades" for offensive Stratagems. If you played a Bullet Hell game before, I.E Touhou, think of this as a "Bomb" for those games.
It deals both very high damage to Infantry- (I.E Bug Warriors, Cyborg Squadleaders, or Illuminates in general) -and moderate damage to "Tanks". (I.E the Cyborg Warlord/Hulk or the Bug Behemoth/Tank and Impaler. Not the Cyborg IFV sadly unless it hits it's backside.) First comes up with a strafing run, similar to the normal Strafing Run Stratagem, only to then have some Anti-Tank rockets come into view half-way through the run, homing in on any heavily armored enemies the rockets see, or just assisting in clearing out any remaining infantry if there is no heavy armor to target.

Add the fact that this has a VERY fast cool down time at, I believe, just a little over a minute, made lower by the Stratagem Priority perk, and you have a pretty good "General Use" stratagem. I always take one of these if I don't have anything better to take, and they have saved several runs I had with randoms.
