Garbage ranked play scoring, incentivizing getting in big brawls in the first 2 minutes and then camping the rest of the game or just leaving. You need 2,000RP for each rank, but wins only provide 100RP. Most games give you between 20-60, meaning on average between 50-70 games to get to SILVER. Once you get to Silver, you also get charged RP to even queue. Time to kill is way too fast. Loading into games takes far too long. Shouldn't have to go AFK for 5 minutes every queue just to drop in and get 3rd partied in the first fight. Oh, and hackers get a free pass in any gamemode with teammates since you literally cannot report. After the game getting review bombed for their garbage malware rootkit anticheat, you'd think it would at least WORK.

Fun to play with friends. The puzzles staying in the cloud and letting anyone drop in and work on it whenever and having it save for everyone else is a very cool feature!

The game looks and sounds amazing, but has a laundry list of mechanical and graphical issues that bog down the actual gameplay. It's great fun until just passed a few bosses on the second island, where a myriad of issues start to present themselves. At that point you get hit with so much artificial difficulty to make things feel hard, but if you stop to ask *why* it feels hard, you realize it's just unfair and busted mechanics like the following:

- Getting hit by stuff off screen
- Foreground art blocking important visual queues or attacks
- Some of the most beautiful and characteristic art put into a game in years totally marred by terrible hitboxes
- Consistency is nonexistent when it comes to boss fights, making learning through trial and error a painstaking task that
can take hours on some of the worst bosses
- RNG based attacks can spawn on top of you, taking out any skill aspect of the game and further increasing inconsistency,
as there is physically no way to dodge these
- Visual clarity on most bosses is already terrible, and it seems like they purposely designed attacks to blend in with
backgrounds, exacerbating this effect to no end
- Getting hit during a phase of a boss you already know is basically grounds for an instant reset, as getting to and
practicing the part you don't know with 1 heart is usually a waste of time

The inconsistency on most of the bosses is the most rage inducing aspect of this game by far. It removes so much of the skill and mastery of the game and replaces it with pure luck, which is what most successful boss fights boil down to. Of course you need practice and skill, but during certain encounters your skill level peeks and it becomes a dice roll where you're hoping to get a lucky pattern or the right attack or the boss doesn't do that stupid mechanic that always hits you. It's a series of trials and errors until you do the right things AND get lucky enough to not get hit by previously listed mechanics. It's artificial difficulty designed to be unfair to the player, and gets really frustrating when it doesn't need to.


While these are the most annoying mechanics that come to mind, there are several other choices the developers made that just seem lazy, too.

The Co-op in the game seems like an afterthought when it could've been a main selling point. They really couldn't implement a P2P system that script kiddie indie devs have been using since the 90s in the year 2017 with a full team and publisher? Kind of a joke.

How does a game with color and visuals built into the fundamental mechanics launch without a colorblind mode in the 21st century? Can't tell if this was just an oversight they decided wasn't worth their time, or if they actively want to discourage the colorblind from playing their game.

No keybinds for mouse? Really? I know it was designed for consoles but they couldn't even add an M1 and M2 bind into their PC port? God forbid people are comfortable while playing on a keyboard. This is just plain laziness on the dev's part, no excuses.

It's a beautiful game and can provide some great fun, but I can't recommend it with an honest heart. There's just too many fundamentally unfair mechanics that give the game it's faux difficulty.
