I want to like it, but I just cant get the timing right. Forget getting the whole first song, I can't seem to get more than like 5 hits in a row.

A simple but really cool twist on your classic twin stick shooter. Respects your time, decent pacing of unlocks.

I don't know that I'd actually recommend this to anyone, but I'd tell people about it and let them decide for themselves. Punishing, but that is the charm. I lost hours of progress to a coin flip many times already, but here I am, ready to do it again.

Very Fun. What else matters?

There have been a few points where i was really throwing myself against a wall to progress. But outside of my own skill issues, this game is just so good. I bought it pretty early in its life, and had started and given up on it a few times, but this recent play through where the game play style really clicked for me, has been a ton of fun. Can't recommend this enough if you want a good metroid-vania that is difficult enough to require being taken seriously.

The parts of this game just don't seem to fit together. The graphics never gel, it always looks like decent sprite work just kind of on top of a render. Enemies are sometimes sprites, sometimes polygons, but that just draws more attention to how they don't look like they belong together. The audio also never feels like it's part of the game. It sounds like a person in a studio alone giving lines, not characters talking to each other or even being in the game world at all. Every element feels like a separate element, nothing pulls it together to feel like those elements are parts of a whole.

And it doesn't really concern a steam purchase, but the Kickstarter was fumbled pretty bad in the end. Such a bummer overall.

The best of the twin stick bullet hell rogue like games. I'm terrible and will never unlock most of the content, but i still love it.

If this service didn't depend on an online community to be viable, I'd recommend it for the people that are into horde mode shooters. But its still live service trash, just the best example of it. It can be fun with a group of friends, but i can't imagine having the desire to play with randoms. I'm not sure if there is anything more insufferable than having to hear about the "meta" from someone. If a friend is actively asking me to play, I might hop on, but I can't see ever firing it up to see what i could get into otherwise. If you are big on horde shooters, and don't mind games as a service, this could be the service for you.
