Cute and we finally get a game where we can diagnose people.
Rough, though, and hopefully gets ironed out in the full release.

I say hopefully, but it really must.

Great writing, great music, great (though easy) combat.
Really, the only down I can give this game is the usual Owlcat rodeo: Loading screens.
It feels much worse than usual this time.
Please, if there is one thing to improve, it's the loading screens.

I only paid 40€ and I feel like I paid 40€ too much.
Maybe they'll fix all the crap, but it's probably a refund missed.

I respect the ambition but please sort this mess out.
I'm talking about the UI that requires way more work than before.
I'm talking about the (relatively) horrible performance.
Everything on low runs fine, with some drops, but there is clearly some vram leak going on. Sometimes you can literally jump from 160fps to 30fps which transitions slowly to a near permanent 40-60fps.

I love this game but it needs to be playable.

An interesting idea for a protagonist, likeable characters and an intriguing (if vague/unanswered) story.
This is what I got from my one playthrough of Alan Wake.

An easy to recommend experience, but a hard sell for its gameplay which absolutely drags on.
The areas were too long and I feel didn't really add to the narrative outside the more cinematic ones.

The only way I remained engaged with its gameplay was by trying as hard as possible to skip as much of it as possible, which can be fun, as it's more of a puzzle than just slowly burning away all the Taken and slowly shooting them down.

Overall as a game I would say it's not very good. As an idea, it's interesting. It was intriguing, but I am glad it's over.

6.5/10

I mean, when the game works it's pretty fun.
Linear souls-like goodness.
If you're tired of horsing around empty nothingness, you'll feel mostly at home here.

Good armor designs, nice looking attack animations/weaving.
There are issues. Some attacks could be shorter, some could have hyper armor, but it's all surface level stuff that COULD be easily fixed.

Greatest sin is the netcode. When it works, it's alright. When it doesn't work... it really doesn't work. De-sync hell.

It's good. A solid 7.5.

One of the best games I have ever played.
One of the best OST ever made.
And some of the poorest performance, though not quite ever.

I recommend it. To anyone, really.
