Off the bat the best compliment I can give is the graphics. Characters look exactly as they did in the anime and the voice acting is on point. the comic book style onomatopoeia are also appreciated.
however If you are like me and are tired of Battle Royale's then dont expect any sanctuary here. get ready for a good chunk of your playtime to be spent on loading screens, lobby screens and pre-game warmups as opposed to an actual continuous gameplay loop. the bane of any not-that-good-but-not-good-enough-to-be-a-sweat either casual players existence.

now onto the complaints
1- the game has a gacha system. right off the bat the game showers with items called "tickets" (uh oh). then the game shows you a alternate currency which is purchaseable... then another currency type for loading screens..and another currency type for limited edition skin styles and another currency type for... yeah. you get the picture and to boot theres 2 different kinds of battlepasses one of which characters are locked behind that you cant unlock normally. isnt that insane? someone can actually pay for a stronger character or strategical advantage over a free to play who is stuck with a base roster. this is by far the most grotesque criticism I have to give about the ordeal. in a Live service MP situation you should NEVER lock gameplay behind the dollar, just the cosmetics.

2- the TTK is brutal and unforgiving. as of time of this review characters have ABOUT at maximum health and maximum shields 400-500 HP give or take. your typical ability from a character does anywhere 70 damage (on rapid fire right clicks) up to 150+ (on longer CD special attacks). this means if you become under focus fire from multiple enemies or if you get hit by 2 signature attacks in a row your HP bar will evaporate utterly. with how long it takes to heal and how rapidly characters are able to churn out damage the game feels like battle of the glass cannons and lopsided. I feel like each character should have an extra 100-200 HP and healing should be a faster so fighters arent decided instantly

3- everybody has a generic projectile ability. this isnt that big of a complaint but in My Hero Academia people had all sorts of powers some excelled at close range combat(All-Might, duh) while others weaponized their powers from a distance. in this game it felt like they were too scared of sticking to such wildly drastic styles of play so they made a over-the-shoulder fps esque type of combat the baseline anchor point. this is only really disappointing if you care about the lore. when I pick all might I dont want to run around tossing fire balls. I want to tackle people through buildings and apparently that has a 14 second cooldown so fireball spamming from a distance it is. to be fair this was probably done for balance reasons but to be even more fair balance doesnt ALWAYS equal fun or interesting. maybe a combat triangle type of Melee vs Direct projectile vs signature Ability direction might have been better

Ultimately the games free and not even 10GB so I'd say its worth giving a quick download and seeing if you like it. I dont think this game is going to last like most other Battle Royals that came and went before it but you can at least give yourself some nice memories of "oh yeah, I tried that game". also it has building destruction! name one game with building destruction thats bad. War of the Monsters, Godzilla, Battlefield, Destroy all humans, Rampage, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Crackdown... you just cant go wrong with it I mean come on folks. this is almost always a plus.

its an decent game. just not a good "Battlefield" game as it drops a lot of core concepts of what made a BF game a BF game such as classes with specific tools and weapons. Instead the game is pick your Overwatch hero and a recoil-less laser beam of your choice and get to farming your crops. Crops being the operative word for enemy players and bots here of course.

Long time Battlefield fans wont like this much but more casual players probably will. For all of about a week or two before move to a different game anyway. Not because the game is bad but just because the game is kind of cathartically pointless like how a match of Solitaire or Space Cadet 3D Pinball was.

Only get this if its on sale as AimLabs is comparable while being free.

Does a good job of teaching you the basics of sens, mouse control and putting yourself in your weakest scenarios to improve upon but like any at home gym its only ever as effective as your resolve and drive is. Dont forget to get good sleep in so your brain can properly "download" the new firmware of what you learn at the end of each day.

Good basic way to play magic if MGO is too primitive for your taste.

PROS:
-lots of nice bells and whistles. small things like sound design, animations and Planeswalker Voice Acting help bring the world of Magic the Gathering to life.
-lots of cosmetics for self expression if you care about that kind of stuff. fun card sleeves, alternate arts, lands and avatars add a dash of flavor to each deck and game if you so choose. I assign a personal Avatar to each one of my decks. If you see "Kiora" then chances are I've got some deep sea friends who are eager make a big splash.
-Free2Play friendly -->IF<-- you are a veteran player or highly skilled limited player. the Limited reward scheme allows a player to go "infinite" by getting at least 5 wins per premier draft run. you can regularly check out top streamers or high level limited players and see their ingame resource pool to be absolutely absurd as they continually apply their knowledge and skills to dominate and create a surplus. IN addition to basically getting nearly every uncommon and common the set has to offer for free with a handful of rares per run this allows you get all the cosmetics you lay your eyes upon. If you are NOT heaven sent at the game (which is a majority of the playerbase) then instead you will be doing the typical modern loop of logging in to do daily and weeklys to accumulate your resources for a month. the second job situation very few enjoy but the devs still employ to get the fish in the river (and maybe in the store ;)

CONS:
-Not all Formats are supported. Commander which is currently among the most popular methods of playing Magic is not available nor are the "Commander" products. 99% of your time will be spent playing either Standard,Historic or a rotating Limited pool
- Not all cards. This one is probably significant. Not all cards are available to use in Magic Arena. just a bulk of the most recent sets in the past few years. this might sound like a lot at first but remember is a game with a LONG history. its been around longer than some people have even been alive and that entire time theyve been printing cards. fun cards, bad cards, just cool looking cards. to miss out on these cards is a loss not just for old players but new ones too who might not appreciate how far Magic has come from the very first "Craw Giant" to "Storm the Seedcore"
-"Alchemy". this is a subjective gripe that is related to the above con. occasionally Wizards instead of choosing to implement old sets decides to make unique Digital Only cards specifically for MTGA which many consider to be much in the style of "Hearthstone". the problem with these cards is that they often do not align with the tenants of Magic the Gatherings design/balance fundamentals AND so far as of writing this review these mechanics DO NOT EVOLVE WITH NEW SETS. so in other words cards give way too much value and often ignore the concept of resource management and unlike Hearthstone there is no exciting new mechanic to get you excited for the next set. instead you will find the exact same copy and pasted Keywords that WoTC has BEEN copy and pasting for the past year and a half. Some people ENJOY Alchemy. I really really do not.
-Animations,Sound effects and other visual/eye candy has taken a backfoot due to the game sharing a spot with mobile. " X is only as strong as its weakest member" rings true for this situation. just like how Consoles have historically held back progress due to limited software the desire to hit all financial bases has lead to MTGA having to slow down if not outright stop adding flashy animations to powerful mythic or rare cards. in old Eldraine there was Realmbreaker Giant, Questing Beast and Brazen Borrower. This new Eldraine set there is literally nothing. Not a single new animation.
-Dev Team is through "building" upon the game. the game is now in maintenance mode and basically only exist as a fancy way to play standard.
-no affordable bundles? I mean the game offers about 2 total bundles and besides that the devs dont care to implement more. It would be nice if WoTC were to offer you know all of last years cards at a discount after every big rotation. WoTC just doesnt do anything outside of pre-order packs though. no idea why. so if you are like me and only really like making medium purchases between 4.99$ or 18$ you will be disappointed.

"ONE ILL TURN DESERVES ANOTHER"

Lets start off by stating the obvious gospel you've probably already experienced or heard by now, this is NOT the Yu-Gi-Oh! you remember growing up with. card games grow and evolve over time like anything else sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. the hallmark of a good card game designers is the rate at which powercreep is controlled.
Yu-Gi-Oh! does not have good card game designers.

the "game" of Master Duel itself is perfectly functional. button presses are responsive, servers dont crash. sometimes the game will randomly boot you from a deck construction to the menu screen when theres a lapse in connection but besides that everything works. solid Engine on a solid app. Its the actual balance of the cards themselves and the design of the current modern game is where you will be let down. In other words the sole purpose of Master Duel is to be a pristine plate and cutlery for a pile of the most foul food you will ever eat.

You will not play the game. you will watch others play the game. for very very long periods of time. eventually you will get bored and alt tab out to go do something else then you will tab back in and your opponent will still be setting up their board.
think about that. its a "game" that you "play" by alt tabbing out and COMPLETELY FORGETTING ABOUT for a few minutes at time every other match in order to retain as much sanity as possible.

then when you finally get to take your turn chances are your opponent has set enough disruptions and ways to interact with you on your turn that the game is already a loss and you should just surrender on the spot and save yourself the time of watching 3 negates and a bounce/destruction effect resolve. so basically. you didnt play the game. you WATCHED someone else play the game and have ALL the fun. it was a ZERO SUM experience.
Because Ladder is the primary form of play Konami pushes you will then turn and commit unto others what was committed to you. Because almost every new pack leads to more powercreep you MUST pay your new-pack taxes to stay ahead of the curve and not lose.

I honestly from the bottom of my heart do NOT recommend you play this game. Once you play the game for a while it will sink its sunk cost fallacy tendrils into you but I PROMISE outside of very rare situations you will not be having fun. the closest thing will be Events which function as a kind of Honeymoon phase to try and convince you that yugioh is fun. a break from the clown spectacle that is the same 4-5 decks and cheese strats on ranked ad-finem. I only play once in a blue moon to do these events and besides that honestly do not bother with the game outside of daily quest and afking on the deck construction screen. my secret hope is that someday Konami do some apocalyptic purge of all the unfun cards or just create a new format and my fools loyalty will be rewarded as I wont be behind on cards.

Oh yeah also Gem prices are crazy absurd and really bad.

dont play this game. Go play Magic Arena or Marvel Snap or Legends of Runeterra. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME!!!

YEAH THE balance is so ♥♥♥♥ its hilarious

Asura the crackhead just rushes me 1 shots me then insta revives anyone that i pumped 30 bullets into.
Pay2 Win model is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so many games i could win If i had the class equivalent of Heavy or engi.
some maps its hilariously easy for attackers other maps its hilariously easy for defender.
some mercs abilities feel so useless while others feel so impactful.
Its a solid game but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does it make me mad get rid of that P2W model and balance the characters
also add a controller option and toggle options(no one wants to hold a zoom in button) and your golden.

Not worth 60 USD feels more like a 30 or 40$ game

Shifty buisness Practices that you see in mobile gaming is prevelant

Season pass and DLC before the game even releases=content cut from the game that shoulda been there to begin with
