I did #'s 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 9
Though turning off system restore seems kinda risky. I just don't keep anything important so I'm not too worried. But #1 from what I read is especially important for performance reasons. I set that in my BIOS though. I didn't try doing it in Windows the way it's listed.
