Risk of Rain 2... where do I begin? After playing ROR1 , I had hoped Hopoo would do a sequel and WOW did they deliver! You can see from other reviews how the character abilities, items, stages and scaling difficulty all blend together to create a unique and incredibly satisfying experience each run, so I won't waste your time restating the obvious. A few things to consider:

The game heats your PC, a lot. It's perfectly playable on most hardware but you may need to lower some effects and/or crank your fan speed up if you're noticing unusually high CPU / GPU temps. There were no frame drops on max settings when playing on an 8 year old PC versus a 2 year old PC. The temperature was higher, that is all. This is minor but worth mentioning for users concerned about their hardware.

As it is a roguelike, there is RNG. Some runs will feel absolutely astounding as you stack great items and melt bosses in seconds. Other runs will end early and leave you feeling frustrated. You will not get far the first time you play as you need to learn how each character plays to go the distance. Once you understand how a character plays you can begin to really enjoy the game and keep opening chests hoping to create that "overpowered" build you've been waiting for.

9/10 Exceptionally well crafted roguelike. Unforgettable when playing with friends. The best early access game to come out in 2019. The game will reach 1.0 later in 2020 and I'm excited to see where Hopoo takes it.
