Feels less of a game and more of a climb simulator with friends. It's an experience. Not even in a fun entertaining way either. All you do is scale a mountain with quirky reddit style graphics. The mechanics is just walk, run, climb, use items, and help friend. It's just way too shallow. There's no thrill or anything interesting going on. This is a flavor of the month "game" that you trick your friends or get tricked by your friends to play for one or two play sessions and never again. The map changing every day is an awful design choice. It wouldn't surprise me if it was done that way so people don't exhaust all the "game's" shallow content so soon.

Basically, this is the type of game a bad parent would give to their 5 year old ipad child. Terrible.

Actually a good game unlike New Genesis. This should be a standalone game. A shame cradle and the lack of support killed it. It would be great if this game had scaling based on number of players and a 'Twisted with Hatred' difficulty for all bosses/triggers.

This game ages like the finest wine the longer you play it. Once you not only beaten the game, but also 100% it and acquire the True Ending, you realize this game is a masterpiece of its genre. The difficulty is really intense, but you'll feel extremely accomplished after overcoming whatever challenge this game throws at you. Especially in a second playthrough where you'll notice different routes you could take and how much quicker you can get by any of the game's challenges and bosses. If you like "metroidvania" games and/or extremely difficult games, then this game is a must especially when its free! However, this game is not for the weak. You'll get your ass kicked and you'll get lost. This game will not hold your hand and hardly will explain anything to you especially with the bad English translation.

There's only a few flaws with this game.
1. Bad English translation although that's not really much of a problem since the game is 100% playable without even reading any of the short dialogue moments this game has.

2. Getting the True Ending is pretty much impossible without a guide. Not to spoil things, but you'll have to revisit a certain NPC throughout the game to ensure you don't miss out on a special key item needed for the True End.

3. Some of the game's bonus challenges are nearly impossible. Mainly talking about the clear the game with 15% completion, clear the game without dashing, and beating Divide Gate's third cycle? (translation for this is BAD) without taking 50 damage. The rest is manageable, but those three is hell.

Game is really good and free on top of that. There's barely any excuse to not try it out. Play it.

Old Review:

This game is actually terrible in rage-inducing way. The insane amount of perfection this game demands from you is crazy. Take for instance needing to FRAME PERFECT jump on a disappearing block while strictly being timed or bosses whom will stunlock you to death. It's also got that classic castlevania knockback BS and spikes that deletes your health so fast. You have to be a total masochist to enjoy this game. This game is literal the equivalent to CBT, a violation of the Geneva Convention, and blasphemy towards all religions, The game is so obscure that guides for it doesn't even exist so good luck trying to find out how to acquire all the game's endings (I don't even how many they are. Still haven't beaten. I only hear there's several as well as post-game content?)

Seriously, if this game were to tone down its difficulty, I would of easily been one of the best freeware games out there. You can really get lost in this game's open level design. I just wished there was a proper English translation since I have a hard time thinking what the story is even about. All well, reading the game's dialogue isn't necessary to play the game.

Works on my machine perfectly fine minus not being able to play online because of Anti-cheat not allowing windows 7 users.

Anyone complaining about """AI""" voices are stupid, never heard of text-to-speech, and never played the vita release because the Accessory and mascot always had text-to-speech voices because they aren't humans. They're AI so it suits them having text-to-speech voices perfectly.

There is no censorship unless you want to count replacing character creation text Male and Female to "Type 1" and "Type 2". Yes, that's a really bad change and I hate it too. But it is absolutely no reason to just outright avoid this great game for.

The gameplay is fun high-speed action "Monster Hunter" type of game. I say it loosely because they really don't play alike. You setup a loadout, pick a mission, and most of the time destroy all enemies within a time limit. Gunplay is nice, but personally I really love the melee weapons and the thorn mechanic. Moving around and hooking onto enemies, allies, walls, floors, and ceilings with the thorn mechanic is really fun. Character customization is really great and I am amazed we gotten custom text-to-speech dialogue for your Accessory character. That's such an amazing addition I didn't think we'll ever get. The game's prison setting is fantastic! Earning your entitlements and being punished for the my basic of things like running too long in the small hub area really immerses you to the game's world. The story is kind bland and unfinished because it ended off in a cliffhanger sadly, but it wasn't bad. I really highly recommend this game if the setting really interests you and/or you want a fast "Monster Hunter" type of game that takes place in the future with guns.

[New Review]

YOU CANNOT STACK CHARACTERS (picking a character someone else has picked first)
FIX IT!! IT'S NOT FUN RUSHING OUT TO PICK FAVORITES BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES!!

After replaying this game again after various updates, I can now somewhat recommend this game. Quick Play seems to be improved now as it seems like there's no leader to wait around to start the match, but the game isn't exactly popular. You'll have trouble finding games during the day. Most people are just doing the event which in this case is a PvE mode at the moment of me writing this. Combat hasn't been changed, but I was a bit too harsh on it. It's still a really bad system all because of every attack cards only gives a minimum value of 1 regardless of how strong they can potentially be. I really dislike it and a simple way to fix it would be increase the stronger attack card's minimum value a bit. The new characters are stupidly good at least for PvE. Again, I haven't tried PvP since everyone is too focused on the event. I do wish there was some incentive to play on both modes during events.

The events seem a bit lackluster. I don't like how the event gacha doesn't reward the actual character and that rolling on the event gacha feels so limited with how you only get the currency to roll the event gacha by doing event missions which are usually "play event for x days" or "win x matches on hard". I do wish there was a reward after each match like event currency for the event exchange shop would of been really nice as I just feel like I login to play one game and then log out to wait for the next day.

As for PvE, I actually find it kinda fun which is surprisingly because I hate PvE for board games. You basically go around killing enough minions to unlock some passive effects. Some of these passive effects are really fun and broken. You can challenge the boss at anytime however they're likely to beat you due to their high stats. Funny enough, they are able to counter attack you too unlike player vs player interactions in PvP lmao. It's really satisfying having strong passive effects like being able to play two cards in one turn or buffing up to an insane amount.

They seem to add several new boards too and the added fan service skins does not disappoint. Eye candy galore! I can see myself playing this game more often now. It just needs more players, more boards, and more incentive to keep playing after your done with your daily match or two especially for trying both modes out. Oh and balance the characters a bit more. The gacha is still bad, and I really wished there was a better system to acquire characters or at least improved rates. Overall it's an okay game now.

[Old Review]

There's potential, but there's so many problems with it. It's ridiculous that this consider "officially released" with only two boards and the problem of Quick Play being filled with tons of lobbies with their leader being AFK.

It's inevitable that this game will get compared to 100% Orange Juice so let's get it over with:
•4 players go around the board collecting enough coins (stars) then return to a home base to level up (norma)
•You can battle players you run across to KO them and take half their coins
•You can collect cards to use in the field or battle to aid you.

And that's all the similarities...kinda. This game has a weird spin on its mechanics. Some I like and others annoy the hell out of me. Let's talk about what I like about this game before I absolutely trash on it
+The art is eye candy (except for the card art). Character designs are great and there's already some nice fan service art which I'm a huge fan of. Outside the card artwork, the game just looks really polished up and stylish.
+A good variety of panels to really liven up the board each turn.
+Cards having no cost and common to draw is really fun. Not to mention how some of them are just really fun to use like the one that rigs your dice roll to a number one to six or the one that changes the direction you are moving
+Character abilities are a fun concept and I just love using Mimi's "shuffle your whole hand and draw the same amount + 1" ability. It feeds onto my gambling addiction I have to get rid of all my good cards for bad ones
+It's free.

And now time the cons
-The battle system is really bad. I hate to compare back to 100%OJ, but I think it's necessary to get my point across. There is no counterattack, but you continue to move if you declare an attack. Meaning there is *almost* zero reason to NOT attack somebody. The only reason why you shouldn't is if everyone is just targeting one player. Not just that, but attack boosting cards do not boost your initial dice roll. Its effects are applied AFTER your opponent rolls for defend or evade. Which means your opponent will always have a 50% chance to evade attacks regardless of how many attack boost effects you are stacked with (except that one card that prevents your opponent from evading of course). This feels so painfully awful when you waste a massive attack boost on your next attack just to roll a 1 on your initial attack roll and your opponent gets a free dodge (Your attack boosting effects aren't applied if your opponent successfully rolls higher than your initial attack roll if they select evade). And that's just the start of it. All attack and defense boosts are RANDOM. They go from a value between 1 and whatever the highest the card states (12 for the massive boosts). So you can still get screwed over by the second dice roll that applies after your initial attack/defend with a low roll.

All that from one con. Anyways continuing on with the cons:
-Two boards. Neither of their layouts are good. One is a crossroad layout and the other an outer ring with a inner ring you can get into from landing on the jump panel. Awful. If this game didn't have a good variety of panels, this game would of been irredeemable.
-No two players can pick the same character. Why??? There is 0 reason for this
-I can already feel the awful grind for characters. Granted it's a f2p game, but I would rather much pay for a character than to roll on the gacha to unlock them
-Some character abilities are busted or annoying to deal with.
-the busty witch is not playable

I really want to like this game. I really think it has potential to not just be a good game but actually dethrone 100%OJ and that's a good thing because I'm so sick of 100%OJ's mishandling. But the terrible combat system, two boards, and the "two players cannot pick the same character" really holds it back the most. On top of that, this game could really use some slice of life updates like seeing card history to know what player played what card or faster camera movement with the ability to zoom in and out. Hopefully in some future update, this game could do something about its the flaws in its combat system, add more boards, allow people to pick the same character, add more busty character showing cleavage like that witch on the title screen, and more fan service skins like more bunnysuits, swimsuits, cheerleading outfits, etc. By then, I'll gladly eat my words and change this review to a thumbs up.

A hidden gem of a doujin game. Lethal Crisis is a stage-based side-scrolling fast-paced action platformer with a fun combat and loadout systems.

Each stage has a series of missions like "Clear this stage under 1:00" which rewards you with usually a new "Applications". Applications are essentially equipment (mostly weapons) with there being five types of Applications: Blade (Melee Weapons), Assault (Dash), Shot (Range Weapons), Charge (Powerful Range Weapon/U), and Custom (Special Passive Effects). Normally, you can only equip one of each type with the exception of being able to equip two Custom Applications. There's also a Burst mechanic which rewards skill play as well as being a last ditch option to clear the stage. When you preform a Burst, you'll instantly recover all your Health, increase attack speed, extends chain duration, and recover Energy (basically your stamina to preform attacks and dashes) a lot quicker. However, you'll drain health over time and there's no way to exist out of Burst Mode for the rest of the stage. Enemies can drop small health pick-ups and stages will have huge health pick-ups placed around so after some practice you could skillfully Burst at the start of the stage and plan out your "route" to clear the stage before you die from the health drain.

There's also a score system that keeps track of your highest score on each stage and totals it up on your save file which is neat. Some missions will require you to reach a certain amount of score to clear.

The game's difficulty is tough and even ridiculous with certain mission requirements. The game took me about 14 hours to clear the Normal Ending, but I tried to clear every mission for every Stage. There's only 16 stages for the Normal Ending. I think if you focus on just clearing the Stage and not so much on the missions, you could reach the Normal Ending a lot quicker. Maybe 2-3 hours for Normal Ending clear on your first playthrough and a lot faster for repeated runs (possible maybe under a hour for the Normal Ending). There are only two endings. A Normal Ending and a True Ending, but the True Ending requires you to beat the Normal Ending first. I can't say much about the True Ending and its new stages since I have yet to attempt it, but I say it might add another hour or two of content.

There is a fan-made English patch done by UnexpectedGenreShift that translates everything except for the game's opening movie. You can get it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k55OrMFQ7q0
Now for the story this game is the second game in the Lethal series and is a prequel to the first game (Lethal Application). You don't really need to play through the first game to understand this game's story, but it does help introduce you to a few characters. The story is really light, lacks details, but there's a lot going on in the background. The setting seems to be about the near end of the war between humans in the Skyside and the humans on the Groundside. It seems like the Groundside is losing horribly in this war. You play as Clarino a "warroid" (Basically a humanoid robot weapon) from the Skyside going onto the Groundside to search for her Master who defected to the Groundside. Upon trying to meet with Master, you encounter another warroid that Master recently created that's basically another Clarino. After a small skirmish, Master reveals his plans that he's trying to stop another one of his creations, Annihilation Model, from completely destroying the Groundside as it's being used by the Skyside to win the war. Clarino decides to assist Master in defeating the Annihilation Model. The story isn't about the war against the Skyside and Groundside, but rather more about the dangers of weapons of mass destruction since eventually the Annihilation Model starts to disobey orders. I really enjoy it and the main characters despite how short the story is.

This game is well worth it especially if you love doujin games or stage-based action platformers.

Fantastic game with a huge song selection though F 2nd will still remain as my favorite Project DIVA game

This game is living proof that xbox controllers are the worst. Please get yourself a good controller with a Duelshock-styled DPad or even an arcade DIVA controller.

Also if you're a W7 user, you might want to search "wufuc by zeffy" and click on that archive.org link while you look at that steam guide to get W7 working.
