A game with many flaws, but with (in my opinion) the best combat system in any rpg I've played. The variety of classes and ways to approach the game is great, which makes exploring a lot of fun for me. My main complaint so far is that I feel like not enough new things were added compared to the previous game, while some were removed.

The game also has a lot of recycled enemies and only a few new ones, lacks a Hard mode, has performance issues, and lacks content overall (armour system for example) but for me the main gameplay loop is enough fun that I still spent a lot of time just exploring the word.

Hopefully with future updates/DLC this game can live up to its promise.

The best grand strategy game in my opinion, lots of depth and replayability, as well as fun achievements to go for if you want a challenge.

Very spooky but Banshees are still adorable.

An interesting story with a lot of clever puzzles. You start off in a somewhat open area that you keep opening up further with lots of things to interact with, while the final part of the game is a lot more linear. This felt like a nice change of pace to me and fit in with the story well. A comparison is often made with Obduction due to their similarities and I personally found Quern to be more logical than Obduction in terms of design. Because of this I usually knew what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to go to get to the next puzzles which makes the game less frustrating when you do get stuck. If you're looking for a good puzzle game that can be challenging at times this is a great choice.

CS:GO Review
Best competitive shooter in my opinion, and with the frequency of updates recently it's only becoming better. As my hours indicate it's a game I find myself coming back to all the time, even in 2019.

A very fun game with a satisfying combat style. As of right now it's still in Early Acess but mainly the singleplayer gamemodes work really well and are far enough along to enjoy for a longer period of time. The Story mode is not that far just yet with the 4th Chapter being worked on at the time of this review, but already shows a lot of creativity and takes the game beyond what you can do in the Challenge mode. The Challenge mode is a lot further along with, at the time of this review, 10 Challenges being implemented that are difficult but satisfying to achieve. The Challenges are where I've spent most of my time on while playing this game and are also the aspect I've enjoyed the most.

In addition to this, there is a 1v1 co-op mode that has a lot of potential but isn't fleshed out enough to be enjoyable for a longer period of time. I tried this with a friend of mine but due to a lack of functionality (no way to select which map you play, for example) and some balance issues we only played it for around 2,5 hours before we had seen all that it had to offer. I would love to see co-op implementation in the Story, Challenge, or even the Endless mode since I think they could be a lot of fun with a friend. Also, the ability to play on community maps in 1v1s would add a lot to the experience.

I personally have no interest in the Twitch (streamer) mode and the Last Bot Standing (BR) gamemode so I have not experienced those but they look like they could be a lot of fun for people who do enjoy these aspects.

While as of right now there are some features missing that would make the game a lot better, the features that are in place already feel great and I can't wait to see what the devs will add later. With how active and open the devs are about their development progress and future updates I have no doubt that this game will only continue to improve. I can't wait to see what will come next!

Edit: I've now completed the game and my opinion has not changed since so I'll leave the original review intact.

With all the negative reviews out there right now I feel like I should share my own perspective on the game. Keep in mind that I've only played 11,5 hours when writing this, so there might be some aspects that I haven't gotten to yet, but I am really enjoying the game a lot so far.

I've played JC2 on PS3 a couple of years back before playing JC3 on PC. Whereas most people enjoy JC2 more than 3, I personally felt like the wingsuit alone added so much that I haven't wanted to go back once. The added freedom and movement from the wingsuit meant that things such as a lack of a sprint, bad driving mechanics, and other lacking mechanics did not bother me much. When I finished JC3 I was still very much enjoying just messing around with the gameplay.

That brings me to JC4, which is very similar to JC3 when it comes to movement, animations, and other basic gameplay aspects which is perfectly fine with me. The main difference lies in the quests, objectives, and challenges. Rather than allowing you to unlock the entire map by destroying everything in the cities and villages in a region, you instead need ground forces to take over a region after (most of the time) completing a mission in that region. You get these ground forces by causing Chaos (by destroying infrastructure). Next to these main missions there are also smaller challenges in every city and village, as well as other random locations, where you have to either go through a target in a certain vehicle, go through a target at a certain speed in any vehicle, and a wingsuit challenge where you have to go through 3 circles within a certain amount of time. These are all pretty straight forward, though they have been getting more complicated in the later regions. All the vehicles for the vehicle specific challenges are usually within 100 meters from the target already which is a very welcome addition.

While these missions are a bit similar across regions, so far I haven't gotten bored with them. This might be due to the fact that I just use these missions to give my random destruction some purpose. Because of this I've actually enjoyed this change of pace compared to JC3 where every city and village felt pretty much the same (though I realise that this new style might not be for everybody). Rather than doing whatever I want in a random area, I now just fly across regions while looking for the next thing to do, while getting distracted by whatever crosses my path.

To me this is where JC4 is better than JC3: the amount of freedom with special gadgets, modifications, and addons for the grapple really has kept me entertained. In addition to this, the new weather system really adds a lot of random chaos to the game as well which I enjoy.

As far as performance is concerned, there have been a lot of mixed reports. For me, however, there have been no issues at all. The game runs around 60fps all the time for me on max settings, with rare dips to around 40-45, without any crashes during gameplay on a 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM pc. This is better than my performance on JC3, especially with regards to crashes. This is kind of reflected in the graphics though, with especially the cutscenes and the sea water looking worse (to me the rivers look fine, they're not supposed to be as wavy). However, overall I slightly prefer the way JC4 looks due to a nicer lighting system.

TL;DR:

Positive
Familiar over the top Just Cause gameplay
Lots of freedom, especially with the grapple
Fun weather system

Neutral
Different progression and challenges system

Negative
Performance issues for some people
Graphics (too) similar to JC3, worse in some aspects

If you enjoy the gameplay that Just Cause has to offer and have the creativity to take advantage of all the aspects that the sandbox offers, Just Cause 4 is, in my opinion, the best Just Cause game in the series. If you instead need fleshed out, deep missions and a great storyline to be entertained this is not the game for you. Given that I have had none of the performance issues that others have experienced while finding more than enough ways to make the game fun I truly have enjoyed the game a lot and therefore I recommend it.

One of the best games I've every played co-op. You're completing really fun puzzles in a world that can be explored however you want, making me feel confident in 100% recommending it to those who are interested in playing it solo as well.

However, co-op is really where this game shines. The way you can not only cooperate but also counteract the person(s) you're playing with keeps the game fresh for the entire playthrough.

Update: After all these years they're still adding new levels and other content. It's an amazing game.

Fun game with a great loot system and an interesting story, even though it's already over 5 years old it still holds up really well. If you enjoy FPS and RPG games, you'll almost certainly enjoy this game.

As of right now I cannot recommend this game. The concept looks amazing, it has a lot of different gadgets that all work really well, but the fact that the hit registration does not work ruins it for me. I noticed it a couple of times at first but it was too much for me when I shot 5 straight headshots on a guy in an open window without killing him or him realizing what was happening while I stood less than 5 meters away from him. He did not move and my bullets just went straight through him. I might try playing this game again at a later stage but for now I'm really disappointed in it.
Unfortunate, the game looked really great to me but without proper hit registration I can't enjoy it.
