I'm not disappointed.

Matchmaking is useless.

There is not a reconnect feature, just a mock.

It doesn't work very well, I couldn't even connect with friends. The UI is horrendous.

I'll sum-up the gameplay loop.

Step 1: Go to trade screen
Step 2: Go to building screen
Step 3: Go back to step 1.

There isn't much to do. Countries are generic. Building stuff can be expensive. There's no war system. Colonisation system sucks. There's a lot of african migration to the americas for some reason. Ehhh, the market system sounds nice but is not very well-done either.

07/04/2023 Edit: I've just tried version 1.3, and even though they did manage to fix the immigration pop-up, the game is still in a very unplayable state. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it feels like a mobile game and the changes in UI are insufficient. They added the industrialists pool, but is not enough to simulate capitalists. The whole game has a command-economy approach that is part of the core of the game. I'm afraid that if they continue with this path, it will never be a worthy succesor to the previous game.

Bland and boring.

24/06/2023 Edit: DO NOT EVEN THINK IN BUYING THIS GAME! IF IT WAS ANALOGUE TO BEEF, IT'D STILL BE A COW GRAZING. It's not raw, is even worse than that. It also keeps crashing ALL THE TIME. And even the Crash Report Tool CRASHES when you try to send the report. It's hilarious.

Now, gameplay wise? It's a step in the right direction because politics seem to be a little bit better. There's still bordergore, stupid bordergore like Prussia owning Louisiana for some reason, and Germany never forms. Still not convinced with the investment UI, the building UI still looks like it's from a mobile game and don't expect there to be war system because there isn't one, just a pretty placeholder.

11/12/2023 Edit: I REPEAT: DO NOT BUY THE GAME. IT'S NOT FINISHED, IT'S FULL OF BUGS, BAD DESIGN CHOICES, AND I'M STARTING TO DOUBT IT'S EVER GOING TO GET GOOD OR AT LEAST PLAYABLE. If you want to play a victorian era game, you should get Victoria 2, or play Project Alice which is Victoria 2-inspired, or wait until OpenVic2 gets released. This game is BAD.

04/07/2024 Edit: It still feels like you're fighting the game, and not that you're PLAYING the game. Many journals don't make sense, the bloc mechanics is bugged as you get stupid names, the personalisation of blocs have no sense. No no, don't buy it. Wait another couple of years, maybe they'll fix their game. They fixed some aspects of the game, so I'll give them that this doesn't feel like playing an pre-alpha build anymore, it feels more like playing an alpha build or even beta.

It's pretty bad and clunky.

I would not recommend this game, is not that funny. And it doesn't even let you change your pirate's appearance at the beginning, you have to pay extra money for that in a game that isn't even free to play. Spend your money somewhere else.
