After seeing that it had mixed reviews at release I didn't expect to enjoy every single moment I played this game.

Enjoyable.

Have you started reading the Horus Heresy Book series ? If yes, this is semi playable although terribly low budget. If not dont bother with it.

Very enjoyable character action game with a superb soundtrack which is second to pretty much none as far as AAA Games in recent memory go. It has really cool world building that throws you into a fascinating, somber feeling world (imho kinda Dark Souls-esque) which will make you ask a couple of existantialist questions. The biggest downside is that the much acclaimed different "endings" are mostly no endings at all, its just a pretense for you have to power through the same content twice with very little noteworthy difference until you are allowed to progress with what is pretty much the second half of the story. What helps is the fun and responsive combat that people assosiate with platinum games and which is also present and well realised in this title and the majestic OST. Characters are kinda bland and would have deserved to be more fleshed out, but androids be androids and they do a good enough job when it matters.

The positive:

• Great World Building ! The premise of the game seems incredibly silly, but as the game progresses the story takes a lot of unexpected turns that reveal the world this game is set in to be very much more fleshed out and even darker than you might expect from a game like this.
  
• Every character route is worthwhile. Every character has an interesting backstory and you'll learn different things about the overarching story and individual character relations with each route.
  
• Production values are top, great art and music.
  
• Seriously, the cats and each and every single one of the characters are really adorable.

The negative:

• (very subjective) Music is great except for the main theme, which is completly garbage. Good thing they only used it for the main menu, and the short intro of the game, and the main trailer which they rely on to promote the game...
  
• The Choices are purely for determining with what character you end up with, and they are pretty vague. I would recommend looking up guides for what dialogue if you want to date a certain character.
  
• Lots of clicking through dialogue you've already seen, since they first half of a route is always to determine what character you date, and its for the most part the same.
  
• Individual Character routes are fairly short, I'd say 17 hours for all of them if you take your time.

All in all, i'd give this easily an 8.5+ and a full recommendation. If you havent played VNs before, perhaps wait for a sale, though I've not once playing this game regretted having payed 20€ for it.

+Great Writing, Tons of Different Endings, your choices have real consequences on the world and how characters react to you. Brilliant Soundtrack.

I had a bad time for about 7 of the 21 hours i've played this game so far, but it was the best bad time I ever had in a Video Game.

Well worth the asking price of 12,58€ for EA buyers or 37€ for people who never played PA. The original Game was lacking a bit in content, but that doesn't mean that people are entitled to a huge amount of free content the devs worked their asses of for month. They could have done more with the still not very substantive SP campaign, but for the price you get a lot of new basic units and a number of really cool and diverse Titan Units, each one serving a unique purpose on the battlefield.
