Larian Studios has not only made another masterpiece, but they have managed to go above and beyond my expectations for this genre and their specific franchise as a whole. There is, of course, minor bugs among other issues with glitches and things breaking in ways that aren't intended. Across all of my playthroughs I have had anywhere from persistent crash issues occurring at random times to dialogue interactions breaking or just freezing during dice rolls until a reload or re-launch and certain spell or armor effects just not working at all. Other niche things like every party member being incredibly horny and having the romance options basically forced upon you with minimal effort can be frustrating or even immersion breaking, to me personally anyways. However, Larian has been on point when it comes to patching the game and listening to the community's feedback.

Other than that, you couldn't ask for a more enjoyable CRPG, it is a game that I know I have only really dreamed about existing. Incredible OST, characters that you will love and hate, an expansive story with endless amounts of paths to follow based on your choices, a beautifully constructed world that never feels dull or empty and the balance between combat, party interactions and lore is nearly perfect. Exploration and experimentation is not only encouraged but generously rewarding as well. Several playthroughs later and I'm still discovering new things or trying out absurd strategies that lead to more opportunities or even give me new ideas to try out.

All in all, You can feel the love and passion the developers have for this game and their attention to major or minor details is vastly unmatched. I can't wait to see what is in store for the future of this game and am looking forward to watching it grow. Highly recommended for anyone that is a fan of the genre and even those that have no prior D&D experience or knowledge (like myself!). I can give it nothing other than a solid 10 out of 10 and I can guarantee that when you go Down By The River you will not be going home anytime soon.
