everything about the client feels terrible. the game has zero combat log so if you're ever confused about an interaction or want to check something that happened five turns ago you can just go ♥♥♥♥ yourself. it makes for an incredibly frustrating experience while playing ranked.

the game refuses to acknowledge any of my controllers, no matter what i do. i've tried all the workarounds i can find with no luck, no matter what it refuses to work with my stick. the ironic part is that my stick is an sf5 branded tes+, and it still doesn't work with the game.

the ultimate 5/10. i never had a bad time, but i also never had a great time. this game is perfectly acceptable in everything it wants and tries to be, yet never stands out in any meaningful way. the levels were consistently too large to be really enjoyable, and their geography just felt incredibly contrived at times. while the natural movespeed of the player is very high, there is no movement tech, the jump is awful, and the environments are so massive that it feels like you're plodding along through the entire game. enemy encounters are in my opinion, boring. if you enjoy fighting hordes of four enemies while balancing on tightropes, this is the game for you. in a lot of levels i couldn't help but feel like this game was a platformer first and a shooter second. with long stretches of empty pathways to hop across.

however, the game is well polished, and i can tell there's a lot of love put into it. the easter eggs and references were fun, and the aesthetic choices were beautiful. it wasn't exactly to my taste, but i think it was worth the experience.

The game is a masterpiece, but has no colourblind settings. It becomes a visually indistinguishable mess after the second floor for someone like me who has issues differentiating blue/green.

If your visual processing is good, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. The story, characters, and dialogue are all incredible. If your eyes are less decent, maybe skip this game.
