Early Access Review
I haven't ridden a dirt bike in real life yet... So cannot comment on simulation accuracy. But what I can say for sure is that this game is definitely fun to play. If you are interested in dirt bikes, give it a try.
(Controllers with gyro is highly recommended. Be sure to spend some time to fiddle with the settings.)

(edit: also highly recommend listening to The Rolling Stone's Beast of Burden while playing :D)

I personally take this game as a near perfect hybrid of Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield, a nice balance between teamwork and personal game play... Playing with your brain shut down or pushing yourself beyond your limit, you can have fun either way. Hard work and practice do pay off here, unlike Spy TF2 where you will find yourself constantly get f**ked by s**tty melee hit register and random crits instead, no matter how carefully you watch and comprehend Mr.P and CRD's lessons....

However, this is still a new game; compare it with TF2, imo THE BEST class based team FPS ever, many of its gameplay issues have at least something to do with the player base, like too many players in the team opt to play "casually"(or to put it in anotehr way, brainlessly) thus making the game very frustrating for those who want to "work hard". I am unsure how the future, inevitable change on player base will affect *this* game since I cannot be considered as a veteran yet. But overall, I feel quite optimistic about this game.

I GIVE THIS GAME 20/10.
SPOILER warning

I was going to give 9/10, the reason being while the artstyle is super impressive, the music is fabulous and the game is extremely fun, but the boat type enemies' being too powerful made it somewhat less enjoyable, since they are annoying, post a great threat to you, very bloody difficult to take down(forget about shooting battleships if you are running anything other than cannon) and offer little reward.

Then I found you could tweak game settings easily in the game file. Battleships having way too much HP? Nerfed. Bullets filling up the air so much that you can hardly savor your "raus"? Dealt. Laser Aces are OP? No problem. Luftrausers>data>res, here you go.

This makes it possible for anyone to fine tune the game until *the perfect version, suiting their own personal taste* is reached. I really appreciate this function; play-ability is at least doubled by it. Buy this game. You won't regret.

Nothing else to say than JUST PLAY IT. This game is downright epic(like any other successful Valve game).
Play both of the Portal series and you'll get how bloody hard it is to make a proper sequel to a legendary franchise.

This game, along with Fez and Super Meat Boy, should be sent into Louvre. The game design and the art style, simply put, are perfection.

Wish human beings may have the grace of having more of such masterpieces in the future.

THE best class-based team FPS game ever imo.

Edit: finally 3000 hrs - and I still can't get enough.

/////////////////////////////

Edit2:
I think I can finally give my all time favourite a relatively fair albeit quick evaluation.

I would describe this game as "a direct descendant of arena shooters"; it manges to retain the essence of Quake's gameplay - e.g., rather fast movement speed and exphasis on the utilization of it - with dialled down intensity via splitting weapons and making them class specific. Depth for competitive play is still there, however there's practically no difficulty for anyone to get into.

Core mechanics were pretty much perfect (minus one specific class capable of long range hitscan instant kill); its heavy inclination towards natural balance instead of number based statistical one is something often missing from more recent games in general, I think this design logic should not be forgotten.

But in the later half of this lovely game's lifespan it suffers greatly from some....inconsiderate decisions made by the dev team (it is said that that most original members of the dev team had either left Valve or moved on at that point). Current asual experience is quite disappointing to say the least, considering how match ruleset used to be, and players' generally overlooking the depth of gameplay doesn't help either. But still, to this day this gem is still definitely worth tens of thousands hours of you arena shooter-esque games.
