fun game

I bought this game in the Steam 2014 Summer Sale
Please note that my low amount of gameplay with this game is due to the fact that it has become unplayable for me. This will be explained below.



Dark Souls.... a game I ALWAYS wanted to play.... and with this years steam summer sale I made that dream a realily, but unfortunately it did not live up to it's expectations.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT.... THIS GAME IS AMAZING.... IT IS THE PORT THAT KILLS IT!

I know that this game mainly requires a controller, and even after accomplishing that task you are met by the first of two bosses: Games For Windows Live. First off, it is a pain just to be able to make an account. This account allows the game to save, which does not happen if the user does not have an account. This is a stupid addition and serves as the main struggle before being able to play the game.

Secondly, the port itself. Graphics are not as good as the console version, (like COMEON! A PC should have the ablility to run with higher graphics than a console) and there are numerous glitches with the game's settings. In my personal experience, I was not able to change key bindings, as the game would not recieve the input from the keyboard. Also, with the controller, multiple actions were assigned to one key. This meant that to block, my screen also had to turn 90 degrees, which defeats the purpose of blocking. Also, the cursor still remains on the screen, meaning that you will have to move it into a position that will not affect your game.

Overall, the game itself is amazing, but unplayable due to the many restrictions. I may be stupid and be missing a key patch that I did not download, but still, a game that is released should be at least playable in any version. Please note that I am not hating on the game, but I am hating on it's functionality.
