One of the best strategy games I have played in the last few years

It's a mix of syndicate, x-com and diplomacy. In game, you use subterfuge, espionage, manipulation and surgical uses of force against a plethora of factions to get ahead of them and eventually be too powerful for them to be exploited or controlled.

I like unit scales and positions on maps actually affect the results of combat. Higher units on the map have advantages over units at lower elevations and, while infantry units can fit into buildings, mechs tower even over sky scrappers, making them be easily countered only by other mechs or space artillery, but do not get anything for granted in this game because, as AI, you are there to break usual rules and power balance.

There are multiple ways you can achieve your goal. You can be as benevolent or as evil as you want. Usually, benevolent use of your powers and resources gives better bonuses, but being ruthless saves up a lot of time or gives unlocks of different technologies, so with that we come to the next part....

Replayability, the game offers at the moment multiple major goals you can achieve, and even if you fail one of Doomsday end game scenarios, which you can postpone, cancel or accelerate by your actions. Even if you fail, those are not game over but result in other ways to finish your "Timeline", as your ultimate goal is to be able to branch into different realities, and they can eventually even affect each other.

So, if you find, after finishing your first play, game was too easy, or you want more, you can take on trying to achieve different goals or play on one of two extra difficulties unlocked.

The visuals are pretty stylized and neat. Sometimes it is hard to find enemy infantry units when they swarm your position in between buildings to counter specific ones to save your important operatives, but that usually just needs to rotate the camera a bit. The sound and music are great. I like the ambiance of rain, as if there is rain at your AI tower location you hear it splattering at "your windows" when you look at the map. It's a pretty neat touch.
The UI is functional, and eventually you unlock various shortcuts, so if you want to see every event on the whole map at every turn, there is an option for that for those who might want to micromanage everything.

TLDR: Recommended. Now excuse me, I need to figure out how to create my own catgirl empire, as I have suspicion it's possible after I got bees armed with laser knives :)

Infinity is just a beggining
I like that like more and more of modern idlers allows user eventualy automate lot of stuff so no need for creating own macros when you grind some harder achievements or doing repetive farming runs

If final game is anything like this prologue than it do not respects user time at all (what is fun considering how much thousands hours we usually waste idling)
Each planet ends with core layer which can only ever be broke by being online
So you have to wait for hours for it to break every end of the run (even with maxed upgrades it takes ages) and if you go offline than progress on it stops

Really neat and engaging little game

Its like if Grave Keeper and Dark Souls had child
Enjoyable experience, really neat pixel art and pretty decent integration of light puzzling

Only con is sound effects in my opinion, those are on weaker side especially some monsters moving sounds

Takes roughly 8 hours to complete when you want all achievements 100% on blind playthrough

Kinda grindy but fun, each chara have different playstile so you can find your favorite way to play.

Idea behind this game is good, dungeon crawler with survival and pokemon elements.

But realisation is horrendous, total obsucre game controls, combat is real time with pauses for listing damage, controling pet monster Is non existent unless I missed something (what is possible) you just pick up its card from backpack to summon it but it seems it combats by itself.

This game needs go back to drawing board, probably best would be implement classic wizardy like (pokemon like) turn based party combat than this mess what is in.
Complete redoing of GUI and controls scheme (Inventory management is horrendous mess of small non descript icons you need to mouse over to see what they do and even quest items take backpack space so you have constantly full inventory. Even default RPGM type inventory is better than this.)
Also game needs to be strict turn based (only moving and interacting/combat should take time, not constant ticking of game clock and realtime combat with messed up controlls and no real direct controll) or realtime (than it would need totally different engine)
Movement, dungeon crawler with no side steping or backpedaling, might as well ditch whole niche and have top down view with that making game maps much easier and cluterless to navigate.

You can get locked out from unique achievement in 1st 10 minutes of game cause you do not know it's in game and there is no way how to get it after (hidden in non replayable tutorial)
That was simple reason I stopped playing after I learned about it (even account reset won't let you get it, and I will not create new steam account just for that, so removed from library for good ;3)

1 luck point in quest chungus, so even if its pretty much non existent, its there

Also for completions having something not unlocked cause it can be missed by only one opportunity per account is big no no

Just having HARD RESET option would be sufficient, there are people willing to ditch progress for sake of completion.
