Replaying this, Hoji sounds like Joshua Block

Probably the best game ever if it wasn't for Unreal Engine. I wanted Dremora Horns like my profile pic, except remaking that mod is a lot harder than it ever was in the OG. the .esp can be made easily enough using xEdit. I figured something Unreal Engine is doing is overriding it. I found out what I would need to edit using FModel but because the game uses this iostore nonsense it's seemingly impossible or just too tedious to edit these files currently. They've essentially put a lot of stuff in the .utoc file and you need to install Unreal Engine to even make those. Models and textures can be edited, but anything else is impossible because of this. So now what used to a really easy to mod game is now really tedious to mod. Imagine something that used to take about half an hour at most to make being stretched out to days because this stuff is so convoluted. I can't believe I'm saying that Bethesda should've stuck to their own engine. As a result. A lot of .esp mods will also need to edit the Unreal Engine files which for most of these files is currently impossible. Dotting your i's and crossing your t's x10. If anyone wanted to buy this to mess around with modding. You'll have Unreal Engine limiting what you can do.

EDIT: EULA states no modding support which means devs can focus on "fixing" the game, enjoy every update breaking mods with the most recent update breaking even mesh replacer mods. Having to install this game (100gb), and then downgrade it to play with older mods that should've never broke to begin with (another 100gb) is kind of ludicrous to assume anyone would do that. Gameplay wise, basic stuff like undiscovered compass icons are missing so you don't even know where you've been, comparatively, exploring sucks compared to the original just for this reason. Combat got completely broken in that the devs simply do not know the reasons for the things being the way they were in the original. You cant power attack while jumping even with blade lvl at the point where you should be able to. That was just cut for no reason.

Some executive was like "What if we add a migration feature that just doesn't work." Genius. I bet $20 it's broken with modders crashing lobbies too.

Just a normal day in Brazil

People complaining about this game not being a remaster forget about the failure of Grove Street Games "remastered" trilogy. Face it this is the best we'll get. No multiplayer unfortunately but to be honest. It only lasted about 3 years until GTA V came out and by that point RDR was broken online and you couldn't even play it because modders were messing up the game so bad. If the online were to come to PC I'd imagine it would only take a day before it would be impossible to maintain. From a company standpoint, creating treadmill work for a 14 year old game seems pretty stupid. No micro-transactions for them to milk. Seeing as Red Dead (Redemption 2) Online has been abandoned. GTA Online is still broken with modders on PC and their anti-cheat did nothing to fix it. The multiplayer for this game will likely be left in the dust. It's a shame though. It was great back in the day, back when Rockstar was less like EA. They need more money for GTA 6 so I can't hate them too bad if it turns out to be good. I imagine we'll all be eating the bugs by that point and they can milk that game for 30 more years.
