Fantastic game. It's Overcooked with fantasy elements and a touch of native Australian elements. One interesting thing I felt that the balance favored two players a little (or our group of 4 was horrible bad) because we seem to clear blue stars easier with 2 than we did with 4! Definitely gets extremely hectic at 4 players.

Look, it's a good game but its not a rogue lite with an infinite procedural grind loop. You can get to the end, you can in a reasonable time access all the buildings and mechanics. You can murder that follower that keeps telling you to feed poop to another cultist as a 'prank'. You can then bring him back and do it again if you want. It's a fun game with smooth combat and a nice art style and music. You can reach the end of the game too.

Tight but not overly punishing platforming, beautiful music, visuals, a bittersweet simple yet touching story with fairy tale like elements that tug the heart strings.

Early Access Review
1.0 Release Update - I love it. Campaign mode is as the boardgame, but with fantastic graphics. This is an excellent adaptation (I have tried the tabletop simulator adaption which is OK but quite fiddly, and I have the physical boardgame as well).

Compared to the physical boardgame - there's the obvious quality of life upgrade of NOT digging through a box of hundreds of cards, tokens and standees. Fiddling with monster cards, difficulty dials blah blah blah. Some people like this stuff, I don't mind it but for a drawn out campaign game where each mission can take 2+ hours depending on what's going on, removing 30 minutes of setup and teardown has to be a good thing! My boardgame map pieces are alphabetised in an accordian folder for gods sake.

As to networking issues - well I haven't encountered too much drama as I mainly play 2 player with my wife. We've played 5 missions at this point (which IRL would have taken us weeks because we have kids). We had one weird drop out during a road event which rolled back when I reset the game, no issues during missions (fingers crossed) and a few times where there was some delay joining the game. I can imagine it might be difficult and frustrating with 2 more players and people dropping out.

If you like the boardgame and want a very accessible way to play it. This is great!

EARLY ACCESS PART : Does a good job of employing the game mechanics into a pc game... at this stage not exactly like the real game in terms of the campaign mode (that said campaign mode isn't yet out so we would need to wait on that). 'Guildmaster' mode lets you play coop relatively smoothly, key things to note on this is there's no Battle Goals or Personal Goals. Unlocking perk points and classes seems more related to the 'trainer' quests, which are basic milestones like 'do X non combat damage'/'inflict status effects x number of times' etc etc. Can't say much as to the campaign mode as its not out, but if its done well, this will be a winner.. as it is, if you like gloomhaven the boardgame, this is very promising

Enjoyed it greatly, good follow up to the first game. Playing with the War of the Chosen expansion changes the game up so much it feels like a new game.

The worst thing you can say about Transistor is that it leaves you both melancholy and wanting more. This game is a gem that is artful and entertaining with both challenge and diversity presented to you. I did not regret getting it at full price and if you're still on the fence, you should not hesitate to get it when its on sale!
