Most cinematic gameplay experience I've had in a long time (after BF1).

**UPDATE**
The game is still very badly balanced, and Gaijin managed to make the game more frustrating to play with every single BR adjustment this year. So if you're a new or returning player, don't bother, you will get constant full up-tiers against vehicles that are superior in every aspect to your lineup. I recommend following GHPC or Tank Squad development, those game are looking like nice alternatives nowadays (and fairly priced, don't give Gaijin any money, is all just a scam).

I used to play WT back in the day and recently have decided to give it another go, but with a fresh account. I really want to like this game, but unfortunately it's taking all the wrong turns for its community, and it's completely unwelcoming for new players, being the mother of all grinds unless you want to pay top dollar (and few pay-to-win mechanics sprinkled here and there). Not a rare sight nowadays from free-to-play games, but that doesn't mean it's normal.

Like many reviews around here, you will see that War Thunder has a really unique formula, a great blend of realism and arcade feel, that keeps all the veteran players still invested (or at least used to), and what attracted me to it in the first place. But the game is so painfully imbalanced, with inconsistencies that ruin the average player experience. Gaijin takes no priority in fixing those glaring issue, because they are rushing to turn the game in more of a cash grab. You want to fly that cool jet that was just added or drive over-powered vehicles onto the battlefield? Sure, you can do that if you have the wallet for it. Just beware that in a few months those vehicles will get nerfed, so that newer additions will be OP and entice you to spend money again. Feels like Bungie, but you get a helicopter instead of a DLC.

No hate to the dev team, but whoever is in charge of the game at the moment, is just letting their greed ruin an amazing experience for so many people, and I cannot recommend this game anymore. Either the game runs into the ground and prompts for direction changes, for the better, or it just runs into the ground.

Too many bugs, developers please don't fix.
