When you want to just kill time, grind, and kill some Grineer scum, get this game. It's fun, addictive, and an absolute blast especially with friends. Almost endless grind for items and weapons on the system, of course.

P.S. I spent most of my time playing the editor and have no legitimate experience in the multiplayer.

I'd say this is one of the must-haves for military-inclined players. The modding community keeps the game fresh and exciting. Even though it was just a revamped version of Assault Squad 1, it's still worth a try.

If you're bored with single player missions, play the editor. If you're bored with the editor, try some mods, then try to play it in the editor. Sky's the limit (and the game's programming capability) on what you can do in the editor.

- A massive Russian charge against an entrenched German position? Check.
- Crash dive a Japanese plane to an American tank? Check.
- Create a commando mission similar to the old Commandos game? Check.
- Make a large map with the AI clashing each other in a decisive battle? Check.
- Massacre an entire group of chickens using a Colt? Check.

The lists will go on and on. You will find some mods interesting that will make you play more.

Rating: 8/10 it still needs some fixing but it's a must-have.

Probably one of the best Total War games I ever played. Shogun II's setting is during the Sengoku Jidai (Age of Country at War). Samurai and ashigaru are the fighting force of this era. The graphics, animations, units, NAVAL BATTLES, siege battles, and almost everything from the singleplayer campaign to the multiplayer part is enjoyable with almost unlimited approach when you play this. With the major DLC Rise of the Samurai, it sets back the timeline to Genpei War, where the samurai rises to become a main fighting force. The stand-alone Fall of the Samurai DLC is way better for me. It introduced foreign powers like America, Britain & France. Set in Boshin War, it was between the Imperial rule and the Tokugawa Shogunate.

The Shogun II vanilla is a good start for new players and experienced players alike. The helpfulness of tooltips, missions, and units are aligned to make almost any approach to your tactics.

The Rise of the Samurai DLC sets the timeline 400 years back to the warring families (Taira, Minamoto, Fujiwara), with attendants and samurai warriors are on the rise.

The Fall of the Samurai stand-alone DLC is my favorite. It introduces both muzzle-loaded and bolt-action rifles, also reintroducing traditional units like the samurai (only named differently). This gives a variety of units for a general to choose. Also, the naval warfare introduces a new front, since navies can now bombard land-based buildings and provide naval bombadment in real-time battles.

Overall, this game is truly a masterpiece. A must-try for RTS gamers.

ALSO THERE ARE A LOT OF MODS TO TRY (AND UNIT MODS TO GIVE MORE VARIETY OF UNITS). :D
