Fantastic game. Everything good from the first game has been improved upon.

A fun little couch co-op beat em up

The deepest cRPG available. Easily 100+ hours of gameplay in a run. The combat can be a bit crunchy at times seeing as its Pathfinder so be aware of that.

If you enjoyed the first Golden Idol then you'll enjoy this one. Story remains interesting, and the characters are all perfectly weird. None of the puzzles seemed particularly hard but there were some challenging ones mixed in.

It is not forgiving with your time and you will want the save anywhere mod. But the game is fantastic and the feel of progressing is enjoyable.

Really wanted to enjoy this but I found the combat to be repetitive, and the "puzzle battles" to be especially tiresome.

Old school survival with psychological and cosmic horror themes. Can't miss.

It delivered on what was promised. Puzzle boxes that needed to be opened.

All around a solid AA game.

The combat was far and away the highlight for me. Everything is based on rounds and time based attacks, but what's interesting is you can (usually) see what your opponent is going to do in their rounds so you adjust according to that. Then there's an entire system of traits that give abilities to enemies (Won't take negative effects, Heals X every turn) that can only be disabled by attacking with certain salutors (demons) that you own. Demon attacks are also time based and have a variety of abilities that can also be set - damage over time, time bombs, etc. Felt just challenging enough on "hard" difficulty.

The story was OK. 1905 Warsaw was interesting to poke around in, and there are lots of "fluff" pieces to read and explore. I found most of the characters to be pretty boring outside of a few side characters who were more interestingly written. But mostly I found myself speeding through the dialogue in the latter quarter of the game, especially when things started being more on rails. There seems like there was a relatively decent amount of divergence in story options, if that's your sort of thing. And you get a nice little epilogue summing up all of your choices.

The most disappointing aspect was the "detective" work. This involves running around the map constantly pressing right click to scan the area for clues which show up as a red mist, and then become more apparent as you get closer to them. In a few of the quests and side quests you could have divergent paths based on if you bothered finding all of the clues or not, but mostly it felt like an exercise in time gating having to hunt down objects on the map.
