I played a single campaign for 6 hours on HWT difficulty with a level 9 account and got to 3,700 points (3,700 points would take me to like level 40) but my character died due to a bug (I had unequipped a ring giving me +5 vitality in favor of an item giving me 20% armor bypass with the intention of drinking alcohol to offset the vitality loss) and was spawned into a battle with -10 health (this killed my character permanently). On the defeat screen my game miraculously quit itself and when I reopened it I had no history of this character, my profile had not been leveled up, and I had lost all 6 hours of progress with nothing to show for it.

The fact that I did not uninstall the game after such a disappointing series of events should speak volumes.
This is a good game. (Even better than the game it's directly inspired by, A Legionary's Life.)

classes have lots of variety with multiple different playstyles and build paths for each
you can spec skill points in certain places that completely change the vfx and damage type of certain spells

- good loot system
- very forgiving character building (refundable skill points for almost free at all times)
- decent campaign
- cool bosses (get cooler as you go)
- great dlcs with great content and great classes

wait for the game to come on sale it does every other month

this game is really really good i would recommend it to anyone interested in ancient warfare.
in fact, i looked to see if the developer had made anymore games because i enjoyed it so much. (to my disappointment)

i spent like 2 hours of my time building some tiny ass shack, and i haven't beaten a single boss.

bad, boring, repetitive, wish i would have never bought it, can't refund it now that i have more than 2 hours :shrug:

THIS GAME IS GOD-TIER
extremely fun, tons to do, literally played it for 21 hours over the course of 2 days, once you learn how to command your fellow apes to harvest stuff and craft stuff the game becomes so much fun


you must have a baby on your back to gain neuron development (xp)

all actions are reaction based,

-grooming a monkey friend? hold space, wait for the sound queue/screen effect, and let go of the button

-using a rock on something? hold space, wait for the sound queue/screen effect, and let go of the button

-being attacked by something? hold space while holding w with a weapon in hand to attack the thing that's attacking you, hold space, wait for the sound queue/screen effect, and let go of the button while holding a, s, or d to dodge

making babies is important

-increase relation with fertile female (non-family related) ape

-make babies

-if 3 apes are pregnant then they will all birth at the same time instead of separately, saving time

the game gets better and easier as you go on

as you fortify your neurons you won't have to unlock them again so the game becomes more enjoyable

every time you advance a generation:

-babies become adults

-adults become elders

-elders become dead

-if an elder dies the genetic mutation he has dies with him, it can be reborn in another ape

predators are not as scary as you might think

-hit em with a rock

-stab em with a stick

-smash em with a club

use meteorites to the fullest

-meteorite only effects those near it

-meteorite gives any babies nearby when inspected a genetic mutation

-doubles fortification points for all baby apes nearby when inspected

you can only advance to the next generation if all fortify points are filled

-this is the only real negative of meteorites, sure, you get all of those genetic mutations, but if you dont have any neurons to use all of the fortification points on then you cannot advanced to the next generation

very fun, better than arma, devs update everything all the time, new content constantly

good game, wait for mods to come out
