Early Access Review
So this is a game that I used to playbefore they added in aerofoils, and it was great back then. When BA first came out it was still great. However the recent additions and revisions have completely destroyed it's gameplay value. They started adding in massivly over-powered weapons and modules (can anyone say Shredder/Blink Module?) They did away with the Teired armour and much of the old Teired system. But then we come to the issues they have constantly ignored. Want a high-speed car? Good luck with that, as every time you try to turn eve at half speed, you spin out and have to spend a good 15 seconds re-alining yourself only to spin out into a wall again. And probably one of the worst parts about this game is how if you find yourself constantly spawn =-killed in BA with the only deterent to save your life is an invinciblity sheild that lasts for a measly 3 seconds before that before-mentioned Shredder tears you a new one. Oh and let's not forget that they completely removed the old currency system where for each match you played, depending on how well you played, you were rewarded with RP, which you could use to buy new parts for your robot. They replaced it with a new RNG system in which you have to be excedingly lucky in order to get ANYTHING you may have wanted to get. Want that shiny new Ion Distorter/Disruptor? Good luck getting the 15k to 150k to buy it or even getting it in a Protonium Crate (the hiest tier of crate you can get.) I will however say that it is still a good game early on, just don't expect to progress fast in late game. I will also say that you should look on the Robocraft forums and at the other reveiws for this gameas the shortcomings that I have listed here are most certanly not the only ones. They are just some that I belive to be the most impacting on the game. I may change my reveiw in the future as features are added and removed (hopefully for the better) but until that time comes it will remain this way.

The last time I reviewed this amazing game was waaaay back in 2013. However I'm going to come back to this gem, because despite Hi-Rez and their genuinely despicable business practices and terrible interactions with the community, THIS game has the best and most rewarding gameplay. I've never really played the other games in this franchise, but from the little bit I've experienced from Tribes: Vengeance it has carried it's legacy well. To those of you reading this, welcome to one of the greatest tragedies of the hobby, and I hope you have the patience to stick with the few of us who remain in this sub-genre.

Going from my memory, I used to spend the waking hours before school immersed in the servers, flowing from one battle to the next, and eagerly waiting the moment I got back home. Gliding high above the ground as I watched battles rage between two starships, the crews engaged in a frantic struggle for one another's flag. Skiing through numerous explosions of those who wanted the glorious pole that I had stolen from them. The chase through the volcanic scarred hills and blasted stone. Everything moving both at a crawl so that I could plan my movements, and an exhilarating *speed* that no other game truly matched in the same way.

All of that could be experienced in so many ways with the variety of weapons at the player's disposal, though I admit slugging through the progression system was a little irritating. And though some of the weapons I was a little disappointed with, that was more because they didn't fit my playstyle and experience with the game. ANY weapon could be the one that fit my purposes at the time, even the weapon variations that were just a smaller area of effect for more damage, or the other way around. And that is because this game has such a high skill ceiling, or lack of a ceiling as the case may be. I'll admit it was difficult to play this game, both because of the low-end computer I was using and the fact that many of those already play had been doing so long before I started, or had come over from the previous games.

So come on over and grab a spinfuzor, and join us in a game that has despite everything survived the test of time and the abuses of the developers at Hi-Rez, as well as the unsporting shazbots who didn't show this game any patience.
