Magicka is by far one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. There is a very unique and interesting combat system, which allows for many different play styles and ways to express your inner sorcerer. The story is... there, but the main focus points are the great humor and hidden tricks/areas. I've never been a completionist, but the great design and draw of the game make me want to find everything. I've beaten the games multiple times, and the only thing to watch out for involves friends. It is incredibly satisfying to kill your "friends", which makes progression very slow and difficult. Also on the topic of friends, and truly the only thing that this game struggles with, is the crashing. When playing multiplayer, I have found it commonly crashes after cut scenes, level changes, or area changes. This is has only happened to me a few times in single player, but just as a warning: "Don't spam buttons when you're loading a new area, the game's 9 years old and it can barely handle itself".

Overall, a great purchase that I would recommend for a group of 4 friends who are very confidant that their relationship will hold up, or any single people who are looking for an old, "hidden gem" that captures magic , monsters, and mysterious gimmicks, all into one hilarious game.
