I must say that I liked "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" more than "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil" but either way they are both very beautiful and colorful games.
I never played the original PSX and PS2 versions but the music still made me feel nostalgic and Klonoa is an endearing and adorable character ♥

If you grew up with classic platforms but, like me, you didn't know Klonoa, I invite you to give it a try :)

My first metroidvania and I loved it ♥

I finished it last year. A very chill game in my opinion. Variety of equipment, skills, summons. Nice music.

I haven't tried other similar titles but I think it is a very good option to start in the genre. It doesn't have too fast gameplay, ideal for new players. It's normal if you get stuck but don't despair :)

I have to say I've never played an RE game before.

If you haven't grown up with classic games, you may find the original gameplay a bit rough. If the same thing happens to you as me, I highly recommend that you use an HD texture pack that also includes a mod to be able to use a mouse and keyboard: www.re4hd.com
I finished this game in early 2024 and despite its age, I didn't feel that it has aged badly.
