Early Access Review
Great game. It has the feel of a traditional roguelike, but with simpler controls and simpler rules that make it far easier to get into. The character build system has a lot of depth to it that arises from complex but intuitive interactions between simple skills and abilities. It's fun to come up with build ideas and fun to see how they work in practice.

Underrated gem. A surprisingly witty little adventure. If you like classic RPGs, you'll probably like this one too. Rewards exploration, pleasant graphics, and in general just very fun for what it is. Short and sweet, but well worth the price.

Also, you play as a tiger named Timmy.

10/10 would tiger again.

I enjoyed this DLC a lot. I didn't find the horror elements to be any worse than those of the base game, but some people do. If you're on the fence, I would say it's worth giving it a try.

It's a puzzle game about exploration, logistics, and science. You send out probes to find new planets, colonize planets, establish trade routes between them, and research technologies that open up new options for you. It's got a bit of a 4X feel to it, but with each playthrough being very short (1-2 hours) and with no opposing empires. Just you and your empire of trade routes.

The game has a lot of replay value. Each run is a random map, with a random selection of technologies and perks available to you. I've played several times now and each run has felt fresh and interesting. I haven't even tried the different difficulty options, quirks (random gameplay modifiers), or the campaign mode yet, but I suspect they will add a lot more variety too.

It's been really refreshing having a game that gives me a lot to think about, but in very manageable doses. Deeply engaging gameplay, but with a clean slate every time you play. Highly recommended!

Not a fan of the dynamic reputation system. Essentially, as you gain reputation with one faction by trading or doing missions, you will lose reputation with that faction's enemies.

Remaining neutral with everyone is nearly impossible. I tried trading in Split border sectors until I got a rep bump, then switched over to trading in Boron border sectors to balance out the rep loss. After doing so, my total reputation change looked like:

Boron +35%
Split +35%
Pirates -12%
Atreus -8%
Strong Arms -8%

The implication is that if I balance my trade between the core races, I *can* become friendly with them, but I'm going to make an enemy of the corporations. I guess I would also need to trade or do missions directly with the corporations to stop them from hating me too? Sounds like a chore - corporation sectors are few and far between. The only Strong Arms sector I've found so far is a core sector, meaning I can't dock there.

All in all it feels like I'm having to focus all my attention on reputation in order to remain neutral with everyone. It really ruins the neutral Teladi trader fantasy.

This game has a lot of potential, but I can't recommend it in its current state.

The vehicle editor is quite nice. The open world and the missions make this game more than just another sandbox vehicle builder. The missions give you purpose. You're building vehicles with purpose, and that feels great.

But I keep encountering quality issues, or bugs, that make it hard to enjoy,

Character movement, in general, feels clunky. Every time you fall out of your boat and have to try and climb back on, it's an exercise in frustration.

I learned quickly that the 1x2 and 1x4 parts create excessive drag and are best avoided. Your boat goes faster if it's a box.

Aerodynamics are quirky and airplanes do not fly how you would expect them to.

I've had way too many missions end with my boat getting flipped due to physics bugs. It feels like building any sort of catamaran or trimaran hull is an exercise in futility because, inevitably, it will flip.

I gave up on catamarans and trimarans and instead resolved to build a boat that can right itself, but... the game crashes to desktop whenever I spawn it. I'm sure there's some specific thing about the boat that's causing it, something that I could change to fix it, but I have no idea where to start.

Frankly, the appeal has worn off and I'm tired of trying to find enjoyment here. I want to recommend this game, but I can't. If more attention was given to quality, bug fixes and general polish, I would absolutely recommend it.

Difficult in a good way. It took me 16 hours to beat this, most of which was just repeated failure, and I did get frustrated with myself occasionally. But I never stopped enjoying it. Getting Over It was a humbling experience and I'm glad I stuck through it.

Great game for local co-op. The game is a lot more involved than you might expect -- the trailers make it look easy, but you have to be careful and systematic to avoid spreading one mess while you clean another.

It's quite relaxing.
