Graphics: 4 Darksiders Genesis is a beautiful game with a combined isometric ARPG graphics styling that is consistent across many games with health and resource pickups easily identifiable, and clear indication of enemy actions.
Story: 3 Darksiders Genesys has a relatively middle of the road story, giving an entry level introduction to the two main characters, War and Strife. Other familiar characters make appearances, making clear connections to earlier games.
Gameplay: 4.5 Gameplay is supprisingly engaging for a 1-2 player isometric ARPG. Combat often requires careful thought, with many enemy's and obsticals requiring either both players or careful switching between characters. Puzzle elements common to the franchise make an appearance and are not often easy to approach once the tool they require is available.

The back tracking does not require you to fully complete the previous level, and is not as tedious as one may think. Progression is approached using enemy drops to enhance abilities and stats. Surprisingly, the Optional arena system removes the need to backtrack to further develop character progression, making backtracking entirely optional and only necessary in a few locations for puzzles.

Overall Darksiders Genesis is a surprisingly engaging and solid spin-off from the franchise in keeping with the changing game style between entries. given the episodic approach and the short duration of the overall game I can confidently recommend this game for either single player or 2-player co-op for you and your favorite person to take a break from reality for the weekend.

early access totally worth it

Right out of the box it worked. Just that, it worked. verry little configuration needed. Like it says, use a wired connection. I would recomend this to anyone who likes to play games with a controller on a big screen.
