It's new RE4 but more clunky and more friendly to players that don't move & shoot at the same time too well.

There isn't much to say about Wavelengths.

Wavelengths is, from what I can tell, supposed to give more backstory to Stephanie and tie Life is Strange: True Colors to the rest of the franchise along with a build-up to the beginning of the main game; And it does that really well, so if you wanted more story from this game then consider buying this. But don't expect a good gameplay experience.

The parts of this game that isn't the lore is the worst part of this whole game, the movement is extremely slow, there's a massive audio bug in the first time skip, and you do the same thing for the entire duration of the DLC. There is nothing else to say about this DLC.

Overall, I'm going to recommend this because it did what the developers wanted it to do, but it isn't high quality like the main game. This is for the people who are really lore heavy on this franchise. That's all I have to say. Thank you for reading this short summary of a short, unpolished addition to a game.

Thank you, Hasta Luego!

So, this game is a masterpiece to say the least BUT, it's not flawless (This is the first time I've actually tried to make a review for a game, so apologies if it sucks).

This is from the perspective of someone who, at the time of writing this, has beaten the main story twice, gotten the best ending, and collected all of the 40 achievements two years after the game was released.

Anyways, let's start with the good stuff:

Story:
The Story, while overall kinda short (around 10 - 12 hours depending on how long you search for collectibles), is extremely outstanding, it gets you extremely invested into the characters, including the protagonist. I feel like I should mention that the twists in this game are unlike any other media I've ever seen, like one of a kind type stuff. That's all I can think of without getting into spoilers.

Graphics:
The Graphics in this game are great on the highest setting (Which I assume is Cinematic), everything from the shadows to the little things, it's all great in the graphics department.

Art Style:
I'm really happy that Deck Nine decided to keep DON'T NOD's Art Style for this franchise (Or Square Enix decided to keep it, I dunno). The Life is Strange art style is iconic, and it actually tricked a lot of people into thinking that this game was developed by DON'T NOD, which I'm not surprised by.
(If you're curious, I believe that DON'T NOD quit developing for Square Enix because they were putting too many restrictions on the development of the game).

Collectibles:
The collectibles are very easy to understand how to get and vrey difficult to find, although I do think this is slightly flawed due to nothing in the "how to play" page in the game telling us that the collectibles even exist, other than that, they are a very good source of replayability and lore.

Animation:
Animation, OH MY GOD THE ANIMATION, you know what, this deserves it's own section.

Now, for the things that I think the game did bad on:

Zen:
For new players to this franchise, you may not know what "zen" is in this franchise, well it's basically something for the players to stop thinking about all of the problems and just taking in all of the stuff you've done so far. While this isn't a bad thing, new players to the franchise likely won't know that at the VERY START of the game you are forced into a zen section without prior warning and some people won't realize it and sit listening to "Home" (The opening zen song) for like twenty minutes and not think to themselves that they have been listening to the same song for a really long time and haven't pressed the space bar. (Home isn't a bad song, it has it's own video on YouTube, highly recommend it). Just like the Phone, it's not a bad thing to have, just let people know it's in the game if you're going to them into one BEFORE they have the ability to move faster.

Plot:
This game follows the same plot as all of the other LiS games, which might have been on purpose to show that these developers are loyal to the franchise but it was kinda boring at times knowing what was coming next because the games all follow the same pattern, but if you're new to the franchise this isn't a negative to you.

Phone:
(This whole point is going over the MyBlock, SMS, and Journal part of the game, the memories are under collectibles). If you don't know what the phone is, the phone is used in all of the Life Is Strange games, which is used for extra character building, even the irrelevant characters, but the problem is that it is almost never used to affect the game at all, I never used it in my first playthrough at all and it only became clear to me how fun and well-implemented it was in my second playthrough. It's not a bad thing to have in the game, as a matter of fact it's one of the many things that makes Life is Strange unique, but I wish it could've been more influential in the gameplay.

THE BEST PARTS OF THIS GAME:
This is the whole reason why I'm making this review so detailed, I want this franchise to continue to grow and make sure that the developers, whether or not they change again, will stay consistent with the ways this franchise got so popular over the years, starting with what I mentioned earlier:

Animation:
This game brings more life to any other group of characters I've ever seen. Everything from the eye movements to the mocap they used to animate the characters. The mocap is the only reason why these characters have so much life and love between themselves and the player. It binds the art style of this game into something special, something that Deck Nine has thought over a lot, and I'm willing to say that they've mastered it. I can't say anything else without getting into spoilers, but the animation is damn near perfect in this game.

Environment:
The environment is something else that I think Deck Nine got perfectly in this game. Like this some Hitman 3 type stuff (Hitman 3 had an extremely alive atmosphere). There isn't much I want to get into but the environment actually plays a role in the gameplay and the ending of the game. So it's really nice to see a game that can understand how to give life to it's environment so effectively.

Uniqueness:
This whole franchise sprung from the fact that the first game was one of a kind. If you wanted a Life Is Strange game, you had to buy Life Is Strange, there were no alternatives, and this game doesn't fail on being unique. All of the characters aren't typical stereotypes, and nothing but the plot feels uninspired in this game.

Last but most certainly not least: Music.
The music in this game is perfect, just perfect, not just the music however, the use of music as well. It takes control of your emotions, gets you hooked on the game, hell it's what made me complete the game in one sitting. This game literally got me to cry until the next day, and it still makes me sad to this day, that's how well it controls your emotions. I have nothing else to say.

Overall, I think this game is really great with a few flaws here and there, but overall a great game with decent replayability. I have yet to play Wavelengths, but I don't have high expectations, most people seem to play that is pretty bad, but I'll take more of this game, whatever it is.

Anyways, I would like to thank you for reading through something that very few people have and feel free to leave any feedback on this review for anything I write in the future.

Thank you, ¡Hasta Luego!

This game lives up to modern standards for a video game in my opinion, minus the graphics. (Obviously.)
