It's a really solid rougelike. If you enjoy the genre, then this is should be on your list. It has gotten even better with the latest update.

Very simple concept, but very entertaining as well. And lots of "learning by doing" or "for science!" moments.

Almost 40 hours in one week should tell enough. It's one of the better game in its genre. Not everything in the building process makes sense but that doesn't feel like a proper downside. And it's also still in EA, so there are updates at the horizon. And even when you finished the "main story" (there really isn't any story), you are still able to play countless hours more. It's pretty relaxing.
It's also not just about building houses. You can do other work too, like transportation or caring about the environment.

There are a few cons though:
- AI art in some places. Please just pay a proper artist/designer and replace those. They kill the vibe because you can clearly see that it's AI.
- Performance can be ass here and there, especially on bigger building projects
- NPC traffic is dumb as a rock and insanely slow through turns
- it seems like almost everything is made from bought store assets which can make it look very generic
- there is a respectable big city in the northern parts that serves no purpose other than making ways artificially longer
- vehicle handling is very basic
- lots of small QoL things that are missing, especially with the UI

And while that list could be even longer, I still recommend it. The devs have many ways of receiving feedback and seem to listen. And this seems to be their first bigger game, so there's a lack of experience, I assume. Therefore they're probably prone to listening even more. You will get your moneys worth if you buy this imho.

Fun game thus far. Runs smooth, has nice movement mechanics and can be challenging depending on the level/randomizer. Visually it's a really adorable game. The little not-Gremlin-Gremlins are insanely cute and well animated.
You will encounter a few bugs or visual glitches here and there, but none of it is game breaking and the devs are absoring all the feedback they can get. It's good invested money if you want to play something with friends. Go grab it.

It's stupid how fun this is. Every level you're expecting something weird and still get surprised.

One of those sad cases were the game itself is really good but gets ruined by an Anti-Cheat tool. That's just not acceptable and unless they change something, I'm not willing to spend more time in this game.

As stated in other reviews on how to remove ACE even after you uninstalled the game already:

Open CMD in administrator mode and enter these commands:

sc delete ACE-GAME
sc delete ACE-BASE
sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Service"
sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Protection"

The game itself is actually good as always. Yes, if you played FS22 then this doesn't feel like a huge upgrade but more like a yearly FIFA update. Although there's a lot of new fruit, graphical improvements and other small things that make the game better. And you can always wait for mods that will do the rest.

Even though I recommend the game, my biggest issue with it is the terrible performance and tons of visual glitches. I can barely keep a stable 60fps on whatever settings with a 3070 that should still handle a game like this easily. Then there's the absurdly low LOD. Every now and then a black rectangle appears for a millisecond which gets super annoying. The new "realistic" movement also makes it feel like you're running on ice. There are soooo many bigger rocks that you can just run through without collision. Floating assets all over the world. Front windows in tractors that glitch through the cabin. The list goes on.
I expect more from such a prestigious franchise. And we all know that Giants is not a big fan of patches after release, to fix or actually improve the game further. They instead just throw more and more DLCs at us. So my hope is quite low that any of this gets fixed.

BUT, just from a gameplay viewpoint, I do indeed recommend it and if you've never played any FS title, then you will probably enjoy this. Sometimes you have to view such franchises from a "new player" perspective. Ofc they wont reinvent the genre every 2-3 years. It's a farming sim. There's only so much you can do.

One of the perfect examples that a bad game (at start) can be turned around. Empyrion players will say otherwise, but screw them.

It's a decent game for what it wants to be. It doesn't reinvent the genre, but it executes what it offers well enough to be worth the 10€, I think. The progression is relatively quick, so you see most of the content within a few hours. That can either be a good or a bad thing, but that's up to you and your playstyle.
There are also a few secrets on the map and references to a specific other game, which become very obvious once you see the first models of the first customers.

So, if you enjoy this pretty simple type of manager game that doesn't have too much depth (gotta stay fair here), then this will probably give you a few hours of joy.

You can slap your co-workers in the face and make them eat dirt when you want to show them your appreciation for the great work they do. 10/10
