Part 1 of rework review.
Buy, don't, wait for sale?
I would not buy, but if you really want to see how the butchered the first game, wait for sale 50% or more.

Woke?
I honestly don't know. So ill touch on this more in the spoilers section on story and choices but, I feel that at first, this game was just a proper sequel, then it went woke, then it went anit woke, but got rushed so all elements are in this game. I don't know if the story writer, went off their meds, or some investor type really thought Joe Biden was going to win, then they heel turned when he didn't. All I know is almost everyone gets a "moment" that would be like, "OMG GIRL BOSS, #SLAY" then they murder a child in the streets, like its just a Tuesday afternoon. I HAVE NO IDEA, but ill explain this latter on.

Good
The visuals, and the update to the resources management system, and animations.

Bad

Gameplay
New-ish resources items, items you can fine and make (much later) are the bread and butter for this game now, The whole final, and second final chapter needs you to store items like your a squirrel for winter, its nuts.

Talking, you need to talk to everyone and due their quest, which are called side quest but are mostly mandatory for the mid/late game, they give flat stat increases to your agents, that are necessarily due to how the endings is made, because you need to save items just to see the ending, so you need those stat increases in order to save those items, other wise you would have to either have to go back possibly 2-4 hours of game play or start a new run. because in the ending all your agents get fatigued meaning a lot wont be able to be used more then one tic, so you need items to boost them so you dont have to restart.

Laws, a newish mechanic which is basically a talent tree, with objectively god tier talents that if you don't pick early, will ruin your chapter, and others after.

Lawlessness, its a red bar on the bottom which is basically your timer, take too many weeks and if they red bar is filled, game over return to title, with next to no fanfare of losing.

Resources resets
Now why am I not just not recommending save up gold then buy all the items before the final chapter? Because every chapter resets your gold, and scouts, and sometimes even your laws/talents. But you know what doesn't? Items, so before you click "this will start the next chapter you should save before you do this," okay, go back? go back buy everything, and look at lawlessness bar, if you got wiggle room, go to the next week, get a bunch of money and spend it all on items, because that's all you will have in the next chapter.
Now this did happen in the first game, ONCE, and that was after you fought, vikings on steroids, with magic, and they had FIVE DRAGONS, AND a lot of your army gets wiped in an avalanche. I would say that's reasonable to get all my gold and upgrades stolen. In this game it happens every chapter, and only ONE makes sense, and that would be the first one. All the rest is where you WIN by a larger margin, not fighting dragons or losing your kingdom, hell in one time I UPGRADED, but still lost everything. It would be like fresh prince of bel air but when Will moves in Uncle Phil pulls a glock, run Will's pockets, beats him within an inch of his life, then Will, hast to stay in this nice new house and never say anything about it. Its NUTS!

The reason why this exists is 100% balance, the devs dont know how to balance this game. Even in this sense you can semi circumvent it with items but the thing about the resets is they completely null in void the laws. So the laws get's erased and changed 3 times. But if they stayed the same the whole game, and had more negative effects, they could easily counter the reason why you would need to reset, but because you reset, then sometimes these laws would screw you if you have no resources meaning, the resources resets make the laws unbalanced so you need to get rid of the laws, and add new ones to help the player get back up after the reset. Which the resets themselves dont make sense with the story except for ONE TIME ONLY. So reseting the resources ruined story, gimps the law mechanic, and is only for balance, which would be easily fixable with the law mechanic, that its screwing.

Choices
Choices dont matter, due to how they are presented, and how they are needed to save items. You either do mandatory side quest, or put your balls in a vice grip later. You either choose to see the ending or not to. And the "choices" are weirdly moral. Like its often its "save the kitten," or "set yourself on fire," but when it comes to main charterers its sunshine and rainbows levels of moral "like spare murders". Then you get a instant bonuses, or do something that should be interesting and get dumpster-ed on instantly, or in the "big" event later, in a very insignificant way.

Story/Rant on the story
The first chapter is insane. Our old friend, come to say hes at war, help us. So we have a plan to make them run through our land, burn our crops, murder our villagers, to make them fight us at our castle walls, and hope they dont siege us. The wall are still broken from last game, which was over a year ago in game lore by the way. Then our builder gets killed, and we hire this new guy, turns out hes a well know bandit leader, but here's the thing, my guards and knights, fought 1 to 5 against Magical Super Saiyan Vikings in the snow, 5 dragons, got bairred in an avalanche, to then run it back 1 to 20 against a seasoned army, that we initially weld our daughter to fight the vikings, who our player character said something like "with your army those vikings will be EASILY DEALT WITH." Yeah the guards should be able to one shot Radahn, you know what happens?

Our daughter and her friend somehow gets a thousand jars of honey to make the all the guards sticky, kills a million chickens to get feathers, invents gun power and puts the feathers into some bomb, to shoot out and make it again seem like its snowing, then puts that on a timer to prank her sister but sets it up a day early, which is timed for the bandits to walk right in? I get that the bandit told her to do this but, HOW THE HELL DID SHE? And remember the guards fought dragons in an avalanche with a hundreds of Magical snow berserkers, while being cold as hell, and on ice. Feathers that make it seem like a light snow fall is happening, and being slow due to honey is what killed them, to some cowardly bandits, that run away whenever you try to fight them earlier, and there's only 20 of them, meanwhile the guards where in battles of 100 vs 500, 200 vs 1000 and came out on top.

Then next chapter is just regrouping, then after that chapter you fall into a coma, but conveniently your wife is found after killing a lion, while holding 2 babies and everyone claps, besides her angsty daughter, for she was a ♥♥♥♥♥ to her girlfriend, and blames everyone else for her problems that she causes, and if you dont appease her you don't get the good ending, which is actually very bad and more or less a unsatisfying end with a major cliff hanger, (GOOD ENDING BY THE WAY). Also Asalia or AS for short, because shes just an as-hole, is very toxic and controlling to her gf, and is the devs favorite character, but, the good ending is ♥♥♥♥ so just let her hang. During all of that 5 chapters happen, including the ending. Four of those chapters are basically filler, and grinding stat increases, while hording items.

Its fun, game play is solid 8/10, wish there was more music, and more ai interactions, however for 20 dollars its a steel, for it took me 21 hours to beat the game and im going to go back to get all the items I missed on ng+. But I due hope it gets some DLC.

(Spoilers) Would have loved if I had an ai companion for a boss fight or mission, but that said a solid game.

Its a great game, but its dead. Would love if the devs came back to it. The combat is like no other, and so fast pace. They just need something, maybe merge the battle royal, and arena mode. Could also make a Hero of the storms like MOBA. or just make 5v5 mode.

Its weird, so it has alot of things strait up taken from genshin, but while genshin goes after kids, this game tries to go after adults but you can treat a kid poorly and they wont care because they dont know better but they treat us worse then genshin does. Its sad effort was put in this game but money and slow gameplay loop killed it for me. I would wait 6 months and see if they increased the rates. Because this is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

A great game, that keeps crashing on me. I would wait till bug fixes. Nothing suck more than doing a 40 min mission to crash either in the loading screen before the mission complete screen, (you wont get rewards and will have to do the mission again) or crash when you get near the extraction for some reason. (this one is new but i was on the new planet that had meteor showers.)

Verdict: Its good but Not Yet! (Due to bugs, and no, not the aliens.)
