If you're a fan of the original, isometric Fallout game series... This game is most certainly for you!

Pros:
- While sometimes buggy, the game itself has quite the extensive world built up around it, keeping you fully immersed throughout it.
- A man that has sex with an ant, and another man who calls you his grand-daughter. What more is there to say?

Cons:
- As I said above, the game is sometimes buggy. From taking 0 damage when near-death (stopping you from dying) to enemies seemingly having a high chance to 'skip,' your turn.
- Some of the dialogue can be hard to follow, due to originally (purposely) being written in Russian.

Played through both betas of the game, only to realize... The game didn't change whatsoever throughout either of the betas, to release. It is, as another reviewer so helpfully put it: A (un?)polished turd.

Pros:
- Decent enough starting area, if you're lucky to get into a server (Luckily, I chose a med pop on first day)
- Combat is... Okay?
- Factions make interacting with other players almost worthwhile

Cons:
- Only three or four different enemy types within the game, with most being reskins of others. (Wolf, zombie, zombie with hat, dryad)
- Most weapons, while okay, never seem to excel at what they're meant to do. AOE/slow attacks seem to not work in PVE or PVP the majority of the time, abilities have 15-30 second cooldowns so you're left holding left click and occasionally tapping shift to dodge.
- A player-run economy with no actual cash-sinks implemented... Need I say more?
- Two different types of quests in the game: Run to point A, then point B, then point C, back to turn in ; Run to point A: kill 7 enemies, return to turn in.

-- Now, onto some general thoughts about the game --

I believe the game is amazingly overhyped and offers nothing new to the MMO genre, save for the pro-active crafting feature. Fighting over resources, quest objectives, etc all sounds interesting in theory, but quickly proves itself the opposite once you run 2km only to wait 15 minutes for the iron (example) veins to respawn. Not to mention the NPC spawn rates, themselves, that will quickly have you thumbing the 'disconnect,' button. Furthermore, once you reach level 25 or level 30, the quests seem to take a large turn in most zones, leading to you having to fight enemies nearly ten levels ahead of you, for a large majority of the time. It is clear that PVE was not thought of when developing this game and rumor would have it that it was originally meant to only have PVP.

The game also lacks a localized chat feature, a staple of every other multiplayer game in existence, which makes it hard to speak to people face-to-face. Instead, you must either post in global or area chat, the latter of which is quite large and often riddled with trolls. While already socially-unfriendly enough with the lack of this key feature, New World is clearly meant to be experienced solo as by design. Therein lies the core of the issue, with a lack of quest sharing, or even being able to start the game with your friends.

A lot of what I've seen in-game and what I've not mentioned in this review has led me to believe that this game will die out within a year, once the 'honeymoon,' phase has ended. The lack of unique content, unique customization and no true purpose within the game other than to 'reach high number haha xd,' will surely be the reasoning behind this.

Certainly one of the best games that I've played in the last ten years...


Pros:

- Those looking for a challenge, have certainly found it.
- A story that you're never completely sure of, and can only be found out through talking and exploring.
- Has Beep

Cons:

- Those who are not familiar with a RTS will find the game EXTREMELY difficult, as there is no tutorial. (Nor should there be.)

- Game allows save-scumming, unfortunately.

Hey! This game turned out pretty good. I've only run into a single bug, which was only something minor and not at all effecting gameplay.

Most of the crying about this game are people that are playing on 7 year old hardware. Are you really surprised you're getting bad performance?

Anyways, buy this.

I missed 8 AK shots at point blank range, meaning that we were literally bumping heads at that point. The next round, the same guy was able to 1 shot me with a pistol through my head armor. I get that this review will never be seen, but please, for the love of God, don't play :/

Oh, and, should probably ban the hackers.

You either live long enough to become a soldier basically, or you die soon enough and get raped with your pants being pulled off by a stranger. Or, you live like me, and just run around screaming at naked people and then shoot them in the face.

Over a year later, and a few more hundred hours, I no longer scream at naked people, but I still shoot them in the face. Oh, and! Desync! I now put whole clips of 7.62 into zombies/players and then get anally demolished. Thanks Dean. Best wishes in Hell
