Saw a friend play it on PS3 back in the day, and thought it looked amazing. It's really not that great, it has some okay parkour, but the Last of Us has more to offer as a game.

If you do get it, get it on a deep sale.

A simply fantastic game about a normal human dad going about his normal human life.

Originally played this on PS2, it's an absolute classic. This game, and franchise, fills the trifecta with Stealth games for me: Hitman, Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, where Hitman fills a specific niche that no other game has come close to achieve.

Great story focused stealth game, just not a great Hitman game. Overall, it's pretty similar to Splinter Cell: Conviction, in that regard. Where it's a stealth game, but will occasionally throw you in unavoidable action scenes.

EDIT: They now added Episode: Sapienza to the editions. Which makes purchasing this game much more confusing than it needs to be. As this game will now be constantly listed as being cheap, even though that only includes one of the maps, which also happens to be the second mission in the storyline.

As someone who didn’t play the Hitman 1-3 as standalone games, but immediately went into World of Assassination, I can only review this as a singular game, which it is.

As far as gameplay goes, it’s one of the best entries in the series. Every map in this game is a sprawling sandbox of murder that will give you many ways to kill each target. Exploring the levels and different approaches will give you new starting locations, smuggling spots, and weapons/items for subsequent runs. Each map also comes with challenges to complete, and offers alternative targets.

Now for the negative stuff. Because this bundles the 3 games together, you get the jarring effect of having 3 tutorial missions complete with popups. As well as having three very distinct cutscene styles. Hitman 1 having very nicely rendered cutscenes, 2 just being slideshows, and 3 running in-engine. This means that after you complete the first story arc, the cutscenes will suddenly drop in quality and style.

All in all, WoA is the complete Hitman experience. Just keep in mind that Part One is just the Hitman 1 missions, and Standard is everything. I personally bought the Standard Edition and the Hitman 2 expansion pass. That gives me all the main maps. The rest of the Deluxe Pack is really just cosmetics and badly rated elusive targets.

Takes a while to actually get going, due to some of the new mechanics being locked to later in the game. But overall it's a fun shooter.

The game doesn't always seem to know what it want's to be. And the downtime mechanics are more complex than the actual combat. And it sometimes feels like the combat is the filler in this game. 1

Combat is essentially a card game with a 3D layout. While it seems like it's a tactical game like XCOM, it's actually a lot different. The maps are very small, and there's no sense of elevation or cover. The card system is very simple, each character has a pool of cards that can be drawn. And during each turn you can play a limited amount of cards, move characters around, redraw cards (all separate counters), or use environmental attacks. Simple cards will give you "heroism", which is a combat currency used to perform stronger cards or use environmental attacks. As for the tactics, moving characters into position really only matters to aim knock-back/environmentals, and the occasional objective. Unlike XCOM, there's no map to traverse.

As for the non-combat stuff. It's a small forest area map where you can do some mild exploration. The rest is just some mediocre "dating sim" dialogues that take up a lot of time between combat encounters. You can walk around freely in third person, and it almost looks like you're playing Fable or Dragon Age for a moment. This is also where you will unlock upgrades, cards, and cosmetics. With all the systems here I'm actually surprised the game doesn't provide me with any microtransacitons, as it has all the foundational elements of a Gacha game.

I'm unsure if I should recommend Midnight Suns. Compared to XCOM2, it is definitely a downgrade. As a standalone game, it's pretty good, especially if you like Marvel characters. The environments and animations are very well done, and seeing heroes execute their power abilities is cool to see. Just expect to be sitting outside of combat for a lot, as well.

I got this through Humble Choice, and I'm really glad I didn't pay full price for it.

First of all, the game looks amazing. The artwork is just top notch, and it provides a lot of nostalgia without losing it's own identity.

As for the story, it's alright. It's not the deepest plot out there, but the characters are fun. The only issue I have with it is that the game is very eager to throw cutscenes at you. Which doesn't really work when the actual gameplay isn't that deep either.

Eastward's gameplay is alright. You start out with a basic weapon and get a few more while progressing. And the game lets you switch between Jon and Sam on for combat and puzzle purposes, which is a neat mechanic. Combat itself is fairly simple, and doesn't really change besides getting a few ranged weapons at your disposal.

Overall, Eastward is a good game. One that is elevated due to its visual charm. With decent gameplay, and occasional pacing issues.

Just as innovatively brilliant as Half-Life 2 came out. Simply amazing.

Most other VR games just feel like tech demo's or arcade games to me. Half-Life Alyx delivers a great VR experience while fully immersing you in City 17.
