So I'm a long time veteran of the Warband community. Here are my thoughts.

A lot of the fundamental mechanics that were expected with Bannerlord are here (better hitboxes, better sieges, etc) but almost all of them need tweaking. A lot of the quests need tweaked, companions, faction snowballing etc. All these things that will be done in time.

Current state (patch 1.0.4): If you can look past the nuances of some bugs, faction snowballing etc, I 100% recommend the game. On full release, this game will be glorious.

If you can't look past these things AND multiplayer mode doesn't cut it for you, wait till full release. I will recommend this game to everyone once it is fully released with as much promise that's been shown since March 31st. This team really listens to it's community and has been doing daily patches since release to help tweak the game.
