Incredible game and a huge breath of fresh air in a fangame scene that's overly polluted by "X game, but Touhou!!!!" or "quirky 2D platformer Touhou game #547358437". Touhou Dystopia is high quality enough to not only stand out as a good Touhou fan game but just as a good game overall, the gameplay is tight and seriously addicting. Hitting stuff feels satisfying and getting a good build together is fun, as is the challenge of trying to get as far as you can when you're not given a particularly good set of skills. Speaking of, the amount of build variety and roguelike nature of the game seriously adds to the replayability factor, I could see myself sinking hundreds of hours into this game. The visuals are also a breath of fresh air and it's impressive that the models look as good as they do because more often than not that's hard to pull off with Touhou when you try going the 3D route. The animations for said models are also really good which just adds to the feeling of running around and hitting stuff. Lastly with the positives, as is expected of Touhou, the soundtrack is pretty good (even if I'm not into all of the genres, it's nice that the Dev tried to vary it a little) and the combat effects are very fitting. There's also small bits of voice acting which you wouldn't think add a whole lot to the experience but they definitely do and is a nice little touch that would probably have been forgotten about in any other game.

My only complaints with this game are that currently some of the skills are rather weak, and Youmu in particular is just not as good as the other playable characters, but the game is only 3 days old at the time of writing this, and these are all things that will get easily ironed out as the game is patched based on player feedback, something which the Dev said he will do.

On the topic of future content that was briefly discussed in the Roadmap, I will gladly buy DLC for this game if it ever gets released. Playable characters in particular would be very lucrative for obvious reasons but more bosses and skills for existing characters should get looked into as well.

Very cool game but its' popularity has allowed the devs to slack off without consequence, updates and content have become very slow and underwhelming.

Update: despite updates and content STILL being quite slow and underwhelming, they managed to find a way to make it so that said updates not only actively make the game worse in terms of balance but also in terms of bugs and optimization as well. The game runs like ASS, is filled to the brim with bugs and can literally break your PC.

150GB for this ♥♥♥♥? Why would you? I uninstalled but I shouldn't have even installed it to begin with.

It's a shadow of its' former self, e-sports ruin everything they touch.

My pc can barely handle it so the fps drops make it harder 10/10

A pretty old game with a lively community (if you set your download region to Luxembourg that is..)
The story is interesting, thrilling, and the lore is well-hidden. The combat system is on-point, 10/10.
PvP is very fun aswell, although you will find one or two hackers or unfair players, but that's a rare occurence (the hackers that is...).
Sadly, cooping with a friend can be hard at times.
But this game is still alive, and I'm glad for it!

Even though it still has Dark Souls II in the title it's pretty different from the original one.
The graphics are much better (just like the trailer woooo) which means torches are actually useful, they changed the locations a bit aswell, and made some weapons easier to get and others harder, same with enemies and their loot, and of course spells.
But...
Katanas are still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overpowered :/
